"Got a song with MGK and they ate him for it": Fans react as Corpse Husband mountain lion tweet goes viral amid his absence

Fans of Corpse Husband are expressing concern online over his sudden disappearance. A tweet published on November 5, 2024, raising questions over his lack of content, went viral recently, subsequently leading to several netizens discussing his health. The last time the YouTuber uploaded a video on the video-sharing platform was back in November 2021.

X user @JoeLongBalls uploaded the aforementioned tweet in response to another one that questioned where Corpse Husband had disappeared. @JoeLongBalls tweeted:

“They cut this guy a voice acting deal and like the next day he was eaten by a mountain lion.”

The tweet has amassed over 16 million views at the time of writing this article.

For those uninitiated, Corpse Husband bagged a major voice-acting anime role, taking on the role of Ojiro Otori in the English rendition of Tribe Nine in 2022. Speaking about the same, the streamer revealed during a livestream with Sykkuno and Valkyrae that same year:

“Making anime noises has to be one of the most embarrassing things I’ve ever done. You have like, a director there, all your audio is being routed to the studio, and they have to listen to you making noises in silence. It’s bad.”

Meanwhile, several netizens took to the internet to react to the aforementioned tweet, with one user saying:

"Got a song with MGK and they ate him for it."

This X user was referring to Corpse Husband collaborating with rapper Machine Gun Kelly for the song Daywalker, released in March 2021. Meanwhile, several others took to X to speculate why the streamer had disappeared from the internet, reacting to the same by saying:

“Ppl being so mean to him was enough reason to step away from the spotlight,” an X user said.

“He’s chronically ill and as I understood it really took a toll on him,” a netizen commented.

“Crazy how some people drop off the face of the earth randomly,” another user stated.

As per his official YouTube channel, Corpse Husband released his last video, titled CHOKING MY FRIENDS, on November 23, 2021. In the video, he collaborated with fellow streamers and friends, including Fuslie, Pokimane, Valkyrae, Disguised Toast, TinaKitten, and Ludwig, among others. Meanwhile, other reactions on X read:

“Wasn’t he on the verge of losing his voice entirely or something,” a netizen remarked.

“Sounds like there’s more to the story,” an internet user said.

“Dude was super paranoid about everything. He was super secretive and basically cut even his close friends off due to paranoia. IDK if his face got leaked or something but if it did, I'd understand how he'd disappear out of anxiety (hopefully not the permanent kind),” another user commented.

Meanwhile, some took to X to discuss his health, and how that was likely the reason behind his absence from the internet. One netizen commented:

"He has health issues, including fibromyalgia, which took a toll on him. His deep voice results from his voice box being affected by stomach acid. Combine that with his anxiety from his fame and weird fanbase, you could understand why he’d want to take a break."

Corpse Husband had opened up about health battles and dislike for streaming in the past

Apart from his November 2021 YouTube appearance, Corpse shared a handful of TikTok videos in 2023 before going silent online. While speaking to Ironmouse prior to his online absence, he revealed that streaming was making him feel shaky and uncomfortable. Corpse Husband said:

"I don't really think I enjoy doing this.”

Furthermore, Corpse had revealed on X in 2020 that he was chronically ill. He stated that he was “in pain every single day” and was attempting to “overcome, but sometimes it just gets too overwhelming.” Corpse had openly discussed suffering from multiple health conditions, including thoracic outlet syndrome, fibromyalgia, and Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease (GERD) in the past.

The streamer also fell victim to an alleged “face leak” back in 2021, despite going to great lengths to hide his identity. An X user had taken to the social networking site to share a photo alleging that it was him. However, he never confirmed or denied the same.

Meanwhile, his friends Valkyrae and Sykkuno have shed light on his absence. In July 2024, the former said in a livestream that she was “regularly” speaking to him and that he “was just taking a break from the internet.”

Fans eagerly await an update from Corpse Husband.
