"He was going at him, so why would he help him?" — Gene Deal explains why Donald Trump will not pardon Diddy

Sean “Diddy” Combs’ ex-bodyguard Gene Deal sat for an interview with The Art of Dialogue on November 16 to discuss the former’s children taking part in his ‘Freak-Off’ parties, among other topics. At the moment, Diddy remains behind bars as he faces s*x crime-related charges.

However, Gene Deal opines that the same is likely to not occur again when it comes to the case of Combs, who is facing s*x trafficking, pr*stitution, and racketeering conspiracy charges. Deal alleged that Sean Combs was speaking ill of Trump in the past, making it highly unlikely that the to-be president will pardon him through the justice system. Deal said in the interview:

“He [Diddy] was going at him, so why would he [Trump] help him?”

Gene Deal even recalled a time when Combs and Trump were in a meeting together. Deal shared:

“I’ve even seen them in a meeting together before. Al Sharpton, Wendy Williams, Puff Daddy and Donald Trump at the Four Season Hotel downtown. And I’m sure he [Trump] was telling him [Combs] because all of this sh*t is planned bro- “Yeah you know I’m going to be president one day. I’ma need y’all support.” But they flipped. You understand what I’m saying?”

Donald Trump has pardoned rappers Lil Wayne and Kodak Black in the past for possession of firearms-related charges; however, Trump has not granted pardons to those facing s*x crime-related charges.

“Puff wasn’t even f**king with Trump like that no more” — Gene Deal alleged Diddy was not in favor of Donald Trump

While discussing why Donald Trump would not pardon Sean Combs, Gene Deal alleged that Diddy was speaking against the Republican at one point. Deal said:

“Puff wasn’t even f**king with Trump like that no more. He was going against Donald Trump. Donald Trump is as petty as 50 Cent.”

For those uninitiated, Deal was referring to one of Diddy’s biggest critics, 50 Cent, who has also announced that he is producing a Netflix docuseries that will discuss the assault allegations against Combs. 50 Cent took to X to share that the documentary will likely be called Diddy Do It. However, the same has not been confirmed.

Gene Deal also discussed in his interview that it would take years for Diddy to get pardoned. He said:

“First of all he has to be charged and be in prison to be pardoned. You got to realize that the feds could take this case for two, three, maybe four years and Trump will be out of office. You don’t know how long the feds are going to go on with this. You understand what I’m saying?”

Deal continued:

“You heard people talking crazy talk- “well they ain’t got nothing because …” Man I’ve seen dudes sat behind bars for two years before he had his trial with the feds. And by the time the pardon comes in, another year will come by. So there’s a whole lot of propaganda.”

Diddy has spoken for and against Donald Trump in the past

Combs and Trump have been photographed together in the past and have publicly commented on each other. In an October 2015 interview with The Washington Post, Diddy commented on his friendship with Trump by saying:

“Donald Trump is a friend of mine, and he works very hard.”

Diddy also referred to Trump in his 2006 song We Gon’ Make It where he sang:

“I spend absurd money, private bird money/ That Bill Gates, Donald Trump, Bloomberg money”

However, by 2020, Combs appeared to be more critical of Trump and commented that he would rather support Joe Biden. In an interview with Charlamagne tha God, Combs said:

“White men like Trump need to be banished. That way of thinking is real dangerous. When you look at it, we don't have no choice. Say what you want about Biden, I can't say I love the pick either. But we've got to get him in office, and then we've got to hold him accountable.”

Trump had not commented on the current charges and lawsuits against Combs. Meanwhile, the latter is expected to face the court on May 5, 2025, for his trial.
