"He's the host that made someone cry"- SNL star Chloe Fineman calls out Elon Musk over his on-set behaviour
Chloe Fineman recently claimed in a TikTok video that she cried alongside a few other cast members when Elon Musk appeared as the host of Saturday Night Live. Fineman shared the video on November 11, 2024, and it has been deleted at present.
Notably, Musk hosted the sketch comedy show in May 2021, and similar claims were previously made by SNL co-star Bowen Yang while appearing on Watch What Happens Live in August 2024. However, Yang did not disclose the identity of the individual at the time.
On the other hand, Chloe Fineman was heard saying in the deleted clip:
"OK, I just saw some news article about Elon Musk being like b*tt-hurt over SNL and his impression, but I'm like you're clearly watching the show, like what are you talking about? And I'm like, you know what? I'm gonna come out and say at long last that I'm the cast member that he made cry. And he's the host that made someone cry."
Fineman stated that she initially opted not to say anything after Yang's statements but changed her decision later. She mentioned that she was in tears since she "stayed up late writing a sketch" and added:
"I was so excited, I came in, I asked if you had any questions and you stared at me like you were firing me from Tesla and were like, 'It's not funny.'"
Meanwhile, Bowen Yang said on the episode of Watch What Happens Live that the anonymous person made the cast members cry "before the table-read" since he was not satisfied with the ideas.
Elon Musk responds to the claims made by Chloe Fineman in the TikTok video
As mentioned, the Grown-ish star's TikTok video was deleted on the same day it was posted and her representative is yet to share a response to the same. While she was speaking about her sketch in the clip, she also mentioned:
"You started pawing through my script, like flipping each page, being, like, 'I didn't laugh once, not one time.'"
Chloe Fineman revealed that her sketch was still featured on the show and everything was fine. She added that Musk was funny and adressed the latter, saying that it is important to have "little manners." However, further details are currently awaited on the sketch that was prepared by Chloe for the show.
Meanwhile, Elon Musk has now replied to the Search Party star's claims in the clip. On November 12, 2024, Musk responded to a tweet posted by Chris Gardner, which featured Chloe Fineman's clip.
Elon also added a link to a YouTube video, where Musk was speaking at the All-In Summit this year. Musk wrote:
"Frankly, it was only on the Thursday before the Saturday that any of the sketches generated laughs. I was worried. I was like damn any SNL appearance is going to be so f*cking unfunny that it will make a crackhead sober!! But then it worked out in the end."
36-year-old Chloe Fineman has been featured on SNL since 2019 and has multiple other films and TV shows to her credits, including Despicable Me 4, Big Mouth, and Jane the Virgin.
