Is Arnold Schwarzenegger a Republican? Former Governor endorses Kamala Harris, issues official statement
Arnold Schwarzenegger recently addressed his support for Kamala Harris a week before the upcoming US Presidential Election. The news comes at a time when several celebrities, including Jennifer Aniston and David Duchovny, are similarly supporting Harris.
Meanwhile, the Predator star shared a lengthy statement through his official page on X (formerly Twitter) on October 30, 2024, including a link where people can register to vote. He wrote that apart from being a Republican, he is also an American, stating that he is never shy about sharing his views on any platform.
Arnold Schwarzenegger said that he is a "former Republican Governor" and addressed his experience by writing:
"My time as Governor taught me to love policy and ignore politics. I'm proud of the work I did to help clean up our air, create jobs, balance the budget, make the biggest infrastructure investment in state history, and take power from the politicians and give it back to the people when it comes to our redistricting process and our primaries in California."
Arnold Schwarzenegger mentioned that he likes to improve everyone's lives with the policies that he can access. He claimed that he does not like any political party contesting in the election, which is scheduled for November 5, 2024. He further stated:
"My Republicans have forgotten the beauty of the free market, driven up deficits, and rejected election results. Democrats aren't any better at dealing with deficits, and I worry about their local policies hurting our cities with increased crime."
The actor described America as a "shining city on a hill", adding that he becomes frustrated when someone says about the country. He then mentioned that he was voting for Kamala Harris and Tim Walz in the election. Towards the end of the post, Arnold requested everyone to vote.
Arnold Schwarzenegger reveals the reasons for supporting Kamala Harris
The Terminator: Dark Fate star referred to the citizens of the country through his latest social media post, saying that they "don't recognize our country." He addressed the problems that the country is suffering from right now, including comprehensive immigration reform that can secure the border alongside fixing the immigration system.
Arnold Schwarzenegger stated that the country has not done anything to bring any changes and continued:
"The problems just keep rolling, and we all keep getting angrier, because the only people that benefit from problems aren't you, the people. The only people that benefit from this crap are the politicians who prefer having talking points to win elections to the public service that will make Americans' lives better."
The Total Recall star also explained a little bit more about the candidates who are enemies of the country, including those who don't have any respect for the vote given to him. He mentioned that such people are "bigger enemies than China, Russia, or North Korea."
Arnold Schwarzenegger stated that the above-mentioned candidates won't be able to solve the problems existing in the country, making people more frustrated in the next four years. He then referred to Donald Trump, who is also participating in the elections, by saying:
"We need to close the door on this chapter of American history, and I know that former President Trump won't do that. He will divide, he will insult, he will find new ways to be more un-American than he already has been, and we, the people, will get nothing but more anger."
Notably, Arnold became the 38th Governor of California in 2003. He accomplished a lot of things in this position, including an increase in minimum wage and reducing unemployment at the same time. Apart from this, he was associated with an organization called Special Olympics and was a Chairman of the California Governor's Council on Physical Fitness and Sports.
