Is Sylvester Stallone a Trump supporter? History between the actor and the president-elect explored

With the US political landscape always a topic of public interest, Hollywood legend Sylvester Stallone has once again come under scrutiny regarding his political affiliations.

On November 14, 2024, during the America First Policy Conference held at Mar-a-Lago, Sylvester Stallone welcomed President-elect Donald Trump to the stage in a moment that captivated the audience.

Referencing his iconic Rocky series from the late 1990s, Stallone highlighted the character's relentless pursuit of growth and resilience, suggesting that such qualities resonate with Trump's journey.

"At that moment, he was a chosen person and that's how I began the journey. Something's gonna happen, this man is gonna go through a metamorphosis and change lives. Just like President Trump," Stallone stated.

Following these comments, the history of Sylvester Stallone's relationship with Trump renewed focus. While Stallone has not publicly endorsed Donald Trump as a political supporter, he has occasionally spoken positively about him.

Following their recent interaction at the Mar-a-Lago event, interest in Sylvester Stallone's and Donald Trump's history has been reignited.

According to reports from Renaz, Stallone and Trump share a relationship characterized by mutual admiration, which has evolved over the years into a friendly connection.

Several notable events highlight Stallone's expressions of respect for Trump, showcasing moments of public support and acknowledgment of his influence. In January 2016, Sylvester Stallone praised Trump in an interview with Variety, describing him as a "bigger than life" personality when asked about his thoughts on Trump.

"I love Donald Trump. He's a great Dickensian character. You know what I mean? There are certain people like Arnold, Babe Ruth, that are bigger than life. But I don't know how that translates," Stallone said.

This admiration has not been one-sided—Trump has shown equal respect for Sylvester Stallone. After his 2016 election victory, Trump offered Stallone the position of Chairman of the National Endowment for the Arts, an honor Stallone respectfully declined.

Additionally, to commemorate Trump's presidential win, Sylvester Stallone sent him a framed photograph with a personalized message. According to Renaz, Stallone further solidified his connection to Donald Trump by purchasing a mansion near Trump's Mar-a-Lago resort.

Stallone has previously shown political involvement, supporting John McCain's 2008 presidential campaign, which led to him being labeled a Republican, as reported by Variety. However, in a 2016 interview with Variety, Stallone clarified that he is not a member of the GOP, distancing himself from formal political affiliations.

"May the best fighter win. I don't think you can be totally one-sided forever. Then you close your mind to all sorts of possibilities. It's just, 'Who comes along better at that time for what the planet is going through?' Right now, it's pretty confusing on every side," Stallone said.

As mentioned, Stallone has never publicly confirmed whether he explicitly supports Donald Trump, though he has expressed admiration on multiple occasions.

Most recently, at an event held at Mar-a-Lago on Thursday, Stallone referred to Trump as the "second George Washington." This comparison is particularly noteworthy since Voice of America ranks George Washington as the most significant US president.

"When George Washington defended his country, he had no idea that he was going to change the world. 'cause without him, you could imagine what the world would look like. Guess what? We got the second George Washington. Congratulations," Stallone said as he welcomed Trump on stage.
