"Let’s shake things up!" — Internet reacts to Alex Jones accepting Trump Jr's nomination to be press secretary for Trump administration
The internet is reacting to media personality Alex Jones accepting Donald Trump Jr.'s unexpected nomination as press secretary if Donald Trump wins the 2024 election. On November 7, 2024, Jones posted a photo on his X account of himself standing in front of a large four-wheeler while holding a firearm. He confirmed in the caption that he had officially accepted the role after Trump’s victory.
The news has ignited conversations across social media as pundits, fans, and critics alike weigh in on what Jones' potential role would mean for the future of political communications.
Note: As of now, there has been no official confirmation that Donald Trump or his team has approached Jones for the Press Secretary position.
Many netizens on X believe that appointing Alex Jones as Press Secretary could be a "game changer" because of his unconventional, confrontational style and willingness to challenge mainstream media narratives —
"Now *that* would be a game-changer! Alex Jones as Press Secretary? Let's shake things up!" one commented.
Some users on X suggested that this news marks a transformative moment for the White House, anticipating lasting improvements. Others expressed optimism that, with this shift, the truth will finally reach the ears of citizens and residents across the United States —

"We could make a LIST of ppl just to send up there. Brandon Tatum, Megyn Kelly, Candace Owens, Blaire White, Alex Jones, Tucker Carlson, John Rich, just keep going. They could make a Press Secretary CALENDAR and folks would buy it LOL," one commented.
"Alex Jones for Trump Administration Press Secretary!" another noted.
"Here Alex," a user on X.
"Let's go 🔥," one more commented.
The internet has responded with humor, anticipation, and concern. Neither Alex Jones nor Donald Trump Jr has reacted to the reactions online.
Alex Jones agrees to serve as press secretary in potential Trump white house
As mentioned, on Thursday, Alex Jones posted on X, indicating that he has formally accepted the role of Press Secretary in a potential Trump presidency —
"I formally accept the offer to serve as President Trump's new Press secretary," Jones tweeted.
In late 2023, during an episode of his Triggered podcast, Donald Trump Jr. expressed his support for Jones as a potential White House Press Secretary should Donald Trump return to the presidency.
Trump Jr. emphasized that his endorsement was not based on Jones' past actions but because he believes Jones has been more accurate than mainstream media on many issues over the past decade —
"Alex Jones, for like a month, would put these people in his place. Because again, not saying he's done everything right, but he's been a lot more right over the last decade or so than anyone in our mainstream media.
He continued,
And I can say that with a fact, and I'll get criticized for it. But that's reality. He has been far more right than our mainstream media on the vast majority of things that are out there," Trump Jr. said.
In the 2024 US presidential election held on November 5, Donald Trump was elected as the 47th president, securing 295 electoral votes and 73,407,735 popular votes, which accounted for 50.7% of the US electorate, according to the Associated Press.
Trump and his team have not commented on Jones' tweet.
