John Krasinski was named the Sexiest Man Alive by People Magazine on Tuesday, November 12, taking over the mantel from Patrick Demsey, the Grey's Anatomy actor. Krasinski's victory has seemingly upset a large population of Pedro Pascal fans, many of whom have taken to X to express their disappointment.

Some of the netizens claimed that Pedro Pascal was robbed of the title.

John Krasinski said that his wife was "very excited" about the news
As John Krasinski was interviewed by People magazine after becoming 2024's Sexiest Man Alive, he shared how his wife, Emily Blunt, was "very excited" to hear the big news, adding:
"There was a lot of joy involved in me telling her."
Krasinski went on to say that Blunt even joked that she'd wallpaper the house with the cover if he received the crown. Krasinski responded to her, saying:
"Do we have that on camera? Because that’s like a binding contract, I think. My children will love that, it won’t be weird at all."
John Krasinski is globally beloved for playing Jim Halpert in the hit sitcom series, The Office, for nine seasons.
He also co-wrote, directed, and starred in the 2018 thriller, A Quiet Place, sharing the screen with his wife, Emily Blunt in it. The massive success of the movie made way for two sequels in 2020 and 2024.
The 45-year-old also starred as the titular hero of the Amazon Prime Video series, Jack Ryan, for four seasons between 2018-2023.
When Krasinski was asked about his first reaction to the news of being crowned People's SMA, the actor said he had "zero thoughts," adding:
"Other than maybe I'm being punked. That's not how I wake up, thinking, ‘Is this the day that I'll be asked to be Sexiest Man Alive?’ And yet it was the day you guys did it. You guys have really raised the bar for me."
Elsewhere in the interview, Krasinski talked about his appreciation for the life he had built with his wife, Emily Blunt, adding:
"It’s that beautiful thing where when you’re married to someone, you’re constantly learning and changing and evolving. And I’m so lucky to go through all that with her."
When asked if the honor would change anything in his personal life, the 45-year-old said it was likely to result in "more than just jokes" at home, quipping that it might end up making him do more household chores.
Krasinski was announced as People's pick for the title of the Sexiest Man Alive on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert on Tuesday night. He earned the title in its 40th year, with its first-ever recipient being Mel Gibson in 1984 when he was 29.
Other past recipients of the honor include George Clooney, John F. Kennedy Jr., David Beckham, Michael B. Jordon, John Legend, Dwayne Johnson, Paul Rudd, and Pierce Brosnan.
Tom Cruise won the honor in 1990, when he was 28, while Keanu Reeves won it four years later when he was 30. Brad Pitt followed the John Wick actor in 1995 and was 32 years old at the time. Pitt also won the title for a second time five years later, in 2000.
