The results of the 2024 Presidential elections that ended with Kamala Harris' loss made many Democrats believe that actor George Clooney was to blame. Clooney had previously endorsed Harris after Joe Biden stepped down from the presidential race.
The Ticket To Paradise actor was one of the many Hollywood celebrities who had endorsed Harris in the 2024 election season. He even shared an op-ed suggesting Biden's withdrawal of the presidential candidacy. In The New York Times op-ed, Clooney wrote:
"I Love Joe Biden, but We Need a New Nominee."
Meanwhile, after Harris' loss, several supporters bashed him for coming up with such a suggestion. Amid all the blame game, Clooney reportedly felt that it was unfair that he was being held accountable for the results of the election. Several netizens further took to X, to share their opinion on the backlash that the actor has been receiving.

George Clooney reportedly felt that he had become a "scapegoat" after Kamala Harris' loss
As mentioned before, actor George Clooney has been receiving massive criticism since Kamala Harris lost her Presidential bid in the 2024 elections. A source exclusively spoke to The Daily Mail and elaborated Clooney's response on all the backlash. The source said:
"George feels that the backlash he is getting for Kamala losing is not at all warranted. He thinks it is completely unfair to try and make him a scapegoat for her loss."
According to the source, the actor was quite "disheartened" after all the blame fell on him.
"He has backed the Democratic Party and invested so much time and money into them, but he is going to take a step back for now. He feels very disheartened," said the actor.
The source further mentioned that George Clooney didn't immediately endorse Kamala Harris after Joe Biden stepped down. According to the source, Clooney thought that the party would give some thought before finalizing Harris as the candidate representing the party in 2024 elections.
While Clooney had helped Biden raised $30 million for his campaign when he was still in the race, he soon shifted his support to Harris after she decided to run in the elections. After stepping down, George Clooney even labelled Biden's decision of stepping down, "selfless."
As for the election results, Harris secured only 226 electoral votes, while Donald Trump won after securing 312 votes.
