Reports claim Melania Trump might not move to the White House full time as the First Lady
As Trump gets elected to become the 47th President of the United States of America, many publications like CNN have reported that Melania Trump, the to-be-First Lady who will be sworn in for her second term as the President’s spouse might not move to the White House with her husband.
The publication claimed that Melania Trump will spend most of her time in New York City and Palm Beach, Florida. The reports also claimed that she will spend more time with her son, Barron, who is currently at New York University, and her friends in Florida. A few sources close to Melania Trump and Donald Trump told CNN:
"As much as Melania loves Mar-a-Lago and her life in Palm Beach. She will spend more time in New York with her son, who is more important to her than anything else. She will perform all the First Lady duties, and also plans to attend state dinners and maintain her platform and priorities as first lady."
As Donald Trump won the elections held on November 5, 2024, he will become the country's President for the second time. Trump served as the President from 2017 to 2021 and will be sworn in again on January 20, 2025.
Melania Trump skipped the traditional meeting hosted by First Lady Jill Biden at the White House
Reports of Melania Trump not moving to the White House come a day after the to-be First Lady skipped the traditional meeting with Jill Biden due to scheduling conflicts.
The meeting was hosted in the Oval Office on Wednesday, November 13, 2024, where Jill Biden wanted to have a discussion with the incoming First Lady. However, Melania's team confirmed on Wednesday that she won't be able to attend the meeting.
“Mrs. Trump will not be attending today’s meeting at the White House. Her husband’s return to the Oval Office to commence the transition process is encouraging, and she wishes him great success," Melania's office said.
However, since many media outlets and social media users were speculating about the deteriorating relationship between Melania and Donald Trump, the post also claimed that all the reported news was “false, misleading and inaccurate.”
“In this instance, several unnamed sources in the media continue to provide false, misleading, and inaccurate information. Be discerning with your source of news.”
Furthermore, Melania Trump also acknowledged that she would be holding the crucial position of First Lady for the second time. She recently appeared for an interview with Fox News to promote her memoir and said:
“I’m not anxious because this time is different. I have much more experience and much more knowledge. I was in the White House before. When you go in, you know exactly what to expect.”
Melania’s memoir, Melania, was released on October 8, 2024. In the book, she talks about her life as a child in Slovenia, her career as a model, and how she met her now-husband, Donald Trump. She also talked about becoming the First Lady and the challenges that came with it. As the book was released, it received positive reviews from readers.
While Melania is busy promoting her memoir, she has not yet confirmed the news of her not moving into the White House. The incoming President, Donald Trump, has also remained tight-lipped on the matter.
