"That guy was canceled for a reason" — Netizens react to Russell Brand selling "magical amulet" that protects from WiFi signals

Russell Brand recently made the headlines after he shared a strange TikTok video in which he promoted a "magical amulet" that would provide protection from WiFi signals and "evil energies." The Independent reported that in the video, Brand urged his viewers to buy the amulet for about $240.

The viral video begins with him walking out of a woody area carrying a yellow suitcase, claiming that he had just come back from a vacation in Narnia. He was then heard saying:

"As you know, airports are places full of wifi and all sorts of evil energies. Think of all the phones out there... Luckily, I wear this magical amulet from Airestech that keeps me safe from all of the various signals out there."

Claiming that the amulet had also made him stronger, Brand encouraged his viewers to get it for themselves as well. Netizens saw the video and immediately reacted upon it on the internet. Here are some of the popular responses made on X, formerly known as Twitter:

A user tweeted:

"A bit of a shock when they're doing satire but then you realize they're serious."
"Filmed with a phone connected to WiFi..." joked another user.
"Whilst he wears a mic on his chest that uses WiFi......" commented another user.

Many other X users took it to the platform to mock the controversial comedian for trying to promote his "magical amulet." A netizen tweeted:

"When will his magical sneakers be coming out?"
"I preferred it when comics advertised X-ray specs and sea monkeys," declared a user.
"This has to be an SNL skit," mentioned another user.

Airestech has marketed the amulet that Russell Brand is wearing, as being a "versatile EMF protection solution"

The amulet that Brand had been promoting and talking about in the viral clip, was introduced by a Canadian company named Airestech. It claims to use a silicone chip to provide "constant coverage from electromagnetic radiation."

In the viral and strange video, Russell Brand even lifted up the yellow suitcase to show the additional strength he got after wearing the "magical amulet."

The Express Tribune reported that the original TikTok video on Airestech's official page is currently unavailable, however, the clip has already been circulated all across the internet. While some netizens claimed that the video was a satire, it is not yet confirmed.

According to World Health Organization, health risks from low-level EMF exposure, are not that evident as of now. WHO has also confirmed that high exposure levels from cell phones seemingly don't cause harm.

Last year, an investigation was conducted by UK’s Channel 4, which ended up accusing Brand of r*pe and s*xual assault. This happened after four women accused him of the alleged crimes which were made during the period from 2006 to 2013.

Russell Brand, however, denied all the allegations made against him. He even claimed to be living as a born-again Christian, after getting baptized this April in River Thames by Bear Grylls.
