"The level of depth and imagination" — Internet reacts to AI music video featuring Kamala Harris drinking and driving, Trump smoking cigar

AI video production company The Dos Brothers released a new music video featuring multiple world political leaders and imminent personalities on November 20, 2024.

The music video, titled The Drill features the song The Pain by Pete and Mas as the background music and has been created using softwares Hailuo and Krea AI. The video featured artifically-created versions of various world leaders, including US President-elect Donald Trump, Vice President Kamala Harris, Russian President Vladimir Putin and North Korean leader Kim Jong Un. It also included caricatures of Tesla CEO Elon Musk and Meta owner Mark Zuckerberg.

The music video began with a scene featuring Kamala Harris driving a car while drinking and Donald Trump smoking a cigar. The scene presumably indicated Harris' losing to Trump in the 2024 Presidential elections earlier this month.

Fans took to X to react to the music video and shared their thoughts. One X user wrote:

"the level of depth and imagination, these boys went hard on this"
"Pete and Bas went crazy on this track," another fan opined.
"This is hard," a user added.
"AI will change movies forever. This edit is wild," a netizen chimed in.

Some of the other reactions were as follows:

"Almost perfect...just missed the real crime boss...," a fan commented.
"Lmfao Putin look hard af with that hat," another user wrote.
"Really enjoyed that one! Watched it with a big a*s smile on my face," a person exclaimed.

"AI is a different species of life" - Yonatan of The Dor Brothers opens up about their viral artificial music videos

The Dor Brothers, who call themselves the "World's Leading AI Video Production Company", have been going viral online for their articificial-intelligence based music videos. During the 2024 US elections, The Dor Brothers came up with multiple political videos, featuring Donald Trump, Kamala Harris, Elon Musk and Joe Biden among others.

In an interview with Digital Camera World, Yonatan of The Dor Brothers spoke at length about AI, their music videos and its impact on the world. He was asked if artificial intelligence can come up with creative stuff in itself without any inputs from humans. He said:

"There's something I say a lot, and I think this is the point for me right now: AI is a different species of life to humans and animals. I think it would be able to make creative decisions, but that it understands. Because when you make a joke, a dog doesn't understand the joke."

He added:

"And maybe A.I. will make jokes, and understand each other, but we won't get the humor. Humans connect to human art – you watch a movie because the actor is somebody you know, and the script was written by somebody with real-life experience who went through something. Even though it could create and try to replicate that, I think there would be a gap between what it creates and what we relate to."

Speaking about how he comes up with ideas for his music videos, Yonatan said he has several people in his team and "allows them to have creative freedom and come up with things." He explained that he usually comes up with a concept and begins "playing" with it. However, Yonatan stressed that it doesn't help to have a pre-conceived notion about how one wants the work to turn out like.

"One of the main things to know when you’re making AI videos is not to come prepared with 'I'm gonna do this and this is exactly what it's gonna be'. You need to make stuff, and depending on how good the results are, you go down that path," he explained.

Yonatan also believes quickness plays a major role in the growth and popularity of AI as one can come up with such videos quickly and efficiently. He believed these artificial-intelligence generated music videos are "more affordable and better quality at certain levels".

The artist also believed that there is no higher quality than one's "pure thoughts" and such kind of technology enables one to create something directly from the mind. He believed AI is a "totally different kind of species" and way to interact with one another technologically.

Yonatan described his work as "satirical" and weighed in on the popularity of his videos, adding:

"The fact we're going viral allows people to adjust to the fact that it's already possible to make those things. And instead of scaring them, we're making them laugh and think."

Further, Yonatan also claimed anyone who is complaining about artificial intelligence now "will use it later" and "switch sides" eventually. He believed it is inevitable that people will rationally see how they can use the technology for their own benefit.
