"They'd sell out on the first day": Internet reacts as viral image of Donald Trump-themed McDonald's Lego set goes viral
A picture of a Donald Trump-inspired Lego set has been doing the rounds on social media as it shows the US President-elect working at McDonald's and driving a garbage truck that reads “Trump 2024.”
While it is known that the alleged Lego set was inspired by Trump’s recent visit to McDonald’s in Pennsylvania as part of his campaign rally, however, the announcement of the Trump-inspired Lego set has not been made by the toy company.
It is worth noting that the news of the Lego set inspired by Trump’s visit to McDonald's is fake, as the company has no plans of releasing the alleged toy. However, the picture, which has probably been generated by an AI tool, has been shared multiple times on social media.
Donald Trump’s son, Donald Trump Jr. also shared the picture on X on November 6, 2024, asking people to “show the memes.” He wrote:
“Show me the memes!!! It’s my second all nighter in a row and I’m too tired to search for them. Send them below!! This is going to be glorious.”
Netizens then began commenting on the post by Trump Jr., and one even stated:
“LEGO would make an absolute fortune if they made this for real. They’d sell out on the first day.”
Social media users acknowledged that the news about Lego launching the Trump-inspired toy is fake, however, they commented about how much fun it would be if something like this was made. Many comments on the post read:
“I would 100% buy these for my kid, but I doubt @LEGO_Group would make them,” wrote an X user.
“Trump could reduce the budget deficit by Xmas if he licensed these. Merch baby. Trump merch,” added another social media user.
“Seriously this would be such a hot seller you all should consider making this real. I imagine you’d have to get permission from McDonald's first but there are so many people who would buy this,” commented a netizen on the post.
“Want to buy,” expressed an internet user.
“Now THAT'S a good idea!” added another X user.
As Donald Trump visited McDonald’s in Pennsylvania, he alleged that Kamala Harris had lied about working at the fast food chain
Two weeks before the elections, on October 20, 2024, Donald Trump put on a McDonald's apron for a quick shift in Pennsylvania, serving fries and burgers to customers. From the drive-thru window, he accused Kamala Harris of lying about working at McDonald’s, as Trump claimed:
"I've worked at McDonald's for 15 minutes more than Kamala."
He then told reporters:
"She's lying Kamala, but let’s not dwell on that. McDonald's is a great business in a great country, and we're going to make America greater than ever."
While Trump could not provide any proof for the same, it is worth noting that Harris has claimed many times in various interviews about her summer job at the fast food chain. In an interview held on May 6, 2024, she tells the interviewer:
“Yes, I did work at McDonald’s when I was in school. I worked at the register, drive-thru, and grill.”
While the news about Trump-inspired Lego continues to storm on social media, at the moment, neither the toy company nor Donald Trump have commented on the same.
