"Time for the Justice League to reunite and endorse Trump"- Internet reacts as The Avengers assemble to endorse Kamala Harris
With the US Presidential elections around the corner, the cast of Marvel’s Avengers came together on a joint video call and declared their support for Kamala Harris to become the next President of the country.
The video was posted by Vanity Fair, in which, actors Robert Downey Jr, Scarlett Johansson, Mark Ruffalo, Don Cheadle, Chris Evans, Danai Gurira and Paul Bettany came together and endorsed Kamala Harris and urged the masses to extend their support to the current Vice President.
As soon as the video went viral on social media, it garnered millions of views, with several reactions from the netizens. An X user, @DiscussingFilm uploaded the video, and one netizen jokingly commented:
“It’s time for the Justice League to reunite and endorse Trump!”
Others also joked about the Avengers stars coming together, as many commented:
“The Avengers have assembled to save democracy and elect Kamala Harris as our next president,” added another X user.
“Kamala literally pulled the Avengers,” joked another.
“America is so dystopian wdym your president candidate called the Avengers to take on Trump,” wrote another social media user.
On the other hand, there were many others who also criticised the idea of the star cast coming together, as many wrote how the actors should “stay out of politics.”
“I feel like celebs should just stay out of politics altogether, it’s just gonna make half of the people who like them as actors/actresses hate them. I’d rather be silent about those opinions than have one side completely hate me just because I believe in something,” commented one social media user.
“Remember when celebrities were cool, mysterious people....” claimed another.
“Why cant we separate movies from politics bro like this is so forced,” stated another X user.
Apart from the cast of Avengers, Kamala Harris has been endorsed by many other celebrities
In the 90-second video uploaded by the star cast of Avengers, Mark Ruffalo started by expressing how he gathered the group to encourage the masses to vote for Kamala Harris. Posting the video on X, he also stated:
“Don’t sit this one out. It’s the one where we will lose big: Project 2025, women’s reproductive rights, climate change, LGBTQIA+ rights, public education, student debt relief, Affordable Care Act, Social Security, and as of today, life saving vaccines. This sh*t is real and it’s going to come for you.”
As the video began, all of the stars started explaining their reasons why they are up for supporting Kamala Harris to become the next President of the country. Furthermore, it is also worth noting that Robert Downey Jr, Scarlett Johansson, Mark Ruffalo, Don Cheadle, Chris Evans, Danai Gurira and Paul Bettany are not the only celebrities that have offered their support to Harris and Walz.
In the past, many other actors and celebrities like Jennifer Lawrence, Billie Eilish, Anne Hathaway, Lizzo, Marc Anthony, Willie Nelson, Andy Cohen, Sarah Jessica Parker, and Leonardo DiCaprio have also come out in support of the current Vice President.
Recently, in a rally at Houston’s Shell Energy Stadium on October 25, 2024, Beyoncé also made an appearance. At the time, she urged the masses to “vote” and pick Kamala as their new President. She said:
“We must vote and we need you. It’s time to sing a new song. A song that began 248 years ago. The old notes of downfall, discord, and despair, no longer resonate. Our generations of loved ones before us are whispering a prophecy, a quest, a calling, an anthem. Our moment right now. It’s time for America to sing a new song.”
While Kamala Harris has been prompt enough to respond to each of the celebrities declaring their vote and support for her, the Vice President has not yet acknowledged the support from the team of Avengers.
