What did Alyssa Farah Griffin say about Trump's Attorney General pick Matt Gaetz? The View co-host reveals alleged encounter
Alyssa Farah Griffin created headlines after she shared a story about her encounter with Trump's Attorney General pick Matt Gaetz in a recent episode of The View. Alyssa, who previously worked as a Trump staffer, claimed that she once urged Gaetz not show “conspiracy theories” to the president.
She started by claiming that she does not know Matt Gaetz “personally,” and recalled that she met him once when she “was standing in the outer Ovals, the room outside of the Oval Office, with Gaetz and Jim Jordan.” She narrated:
“Matt Gaetz was holding a folder, he was about to go meet with then-President Trump. He shows me these printed out conspiracy theories that Joe Scarborough of Morning Joe and a former congressman had murdered his staffer. I said, ‘Please do not show these to the President of the United States.'”
Alyssa continued:
“Then, days ensued of Donald Trump tweeting false, malicious claims about Joe Scarborough. The family of the woman who died — there was no foul play, it was a tragedy — begged Twitter and the White House to take it down, so that speaks to his character, integrity, and judgment.”
Alyssa Farah Griffin’s statement came in just after Trump announced his cabinet, and stated that Matt Gaetz would be the attorney general in the new government. Apart from Gaetz, Todd Blanche has been selected as the new deputy attorney general. Furthermore, former Rep. Doug Collins will be the secretary of Veterans Affairs.
“He is not the only scary person who was nominated yesterday”: More explored as Alyssa Farah Griffin shares about her previous meeting with Matt Gaetz
During the show, which aired just the night after Donald Trump announced the selected cabinet member, Alyssa Farah Griffin stated how there are other “scary” people in the cabinet. However, The View co-host did not name anyone else. She said:
“Donald Trump absolutely has a constitutional right to appoint members of his Cabinet and the Senate has the right to advise and consent. Matt Gaetz is a widely disliked person even by his colleagues. There may be political will to stop him. I want to mention he is not the only scary person who was nominated yesterday.”
Other names in the new cabinet include Robert F. Kennedy Jr., who will lead the Department of Health and Human Services, and Marco Rubio, who will be the new Secretary of State. Moreover, Tulsi Gabbard has been made the new Director of National Intelligence, while Pete Hegseth will be the new Defense Secretary.
It is worth noting while announcing Matt Gaetz as the new Attorney General, Trump said:
“Matt will end Weaponized Government, protect our Borders, dismantle Criminal Organizations and Restore Americans' badly shattered Faith and Confidence in the Justice Department.”
Gaetz AKA Matthew Louis Gaetz II, born in 1982 is the son of the Florida-based politician Don Gaetz. After completing his degree in law, he started by working at a law firm and later started his political journey.
On the other hand, neither Gaetz nor Trump have addressed the comments by Alyssa Farah Griffin.
