What did Danica Patrick say at Trump's Pennsylvania rally? NASCAR star seemingly shades Kamala Harris' celebrity supporters
Retired NASCAR driver Danica Patrick seemingly criticized celebrities who announced their support for Kamala Harris in the upcoming elections. During Donald Trump's rally in Pennsylvania on Sunday, November 3, 2024, Patrick said:
"Now I’m speaking. I’m not paid to be here. I don’t have a teleprompter. I’m winging this right now, everybody. I don’t need a telephone. I never went to a Diddy party. I’m doing this because I love this country."
The teleprompter jibe was targeted at rapper Cardi B, who was forced to read off her phone at Harris' rally in Milwaukee on Friday due to issues with the teleprompter. Her remark about never attending a "Diddy party" referenced the various controversies surrounding the music mogul.
Diddy was arrested in September on charges of racketeering, s*x trafficking, and transportation to engage in pr*stitution. His unsealed indictment claimed the rapper ran a "criminal enterprise" that s*xually abused others for years. This included targeting victims at his "freak off" parties. Since then, netizens have speculated on which celebrity attended the parties.
In her speech, Danica Patrick used the phrase "never went to a Diddy party" to imply she had no skeletons in her closet.
"There’s nobody that’s been tested more"— Danica Patrick about Donald Trump
Danica Patrick continued to praise Republican candidate Donald Trump, telling the crowd at the Pennsylvania rally that he has proved his love for the country.
"There’s nobody that’s been tested more than Donald Trump on showing his love for this country — through indictments, house raids, mugshots, and getting literally shot," she said.
She also said that it was a "surreal situation" she was in, pointing to being surrounded by bulletproof glass to prevent an attempt at her life (or any speaker). Patrick, expressing her support for Trump, added that he would not only make the country great but also "better than it’s ever been."
As the sportswoman's speech went viral, an X user, @TheThe1776, shared the clip with a comment suggesting Danica Patrick was criticizing Kamala Harris' "paid guest spears."
When the tweet reached Patrick, the former racecar driver reposted it with the caption that she agreed with the "message."
"I’m Danica Patrick and I approve this message," she worte.
The X post echoed Danica Partick's remarks on Sunday, asserting she was not paid to rally behind Trump. However, it also seemingly suggested that Harris' supporters have been paid off.
In the days following Democrats announcing the nomination of Kamala Harris, several A-list celebrities have endorsed her. This includes Taylor Swift, Beyonce, Jennifer Anniston, LeBron James, Steph Curry, and Bruce Springsteen, among many others. During Harris' rally in Las Vegas last week, Jennifer Lopez, who dated Diddy from 1991 to 2001, also endorsed the Democratic ticket.
However, many Trump supporters have since claimed that many Hollywood celebrities are supporting Harris because they were participants at Diddy's parties. They alleged that the VP would suppress their names if elected.
Elsewhere in her speech, Patrick commented that when people vote for Trump, they also get six presidents: Donald Trump, JD Vance, Bobby Kennedy, Tulsi Gabbard, Vivek Ramaswamy, and Elon Musk.
The U.S. presidential ballot will be held on Tuesday, November 5.
