Terrence K. Williams' video, which has over 300,000 views on X at the time of writing, features him doing the Trump dance challenge while sporting a 'Make America Great Again' cap.
"Trump Dance Challenge/ People all around the world are doing it/ Post yours and use the hashtag," wrote Williams in the caption.
Additionally, American athletes across various sports have mimicked the Donald Trump dance challenge ever since the Republican leader was declared the next President of the United States.
The first viral instance of a player recreating the dance was Nick Bosa. The San Fransisco 49ers player, a vocal Trump supporter, celebrated with his teammates by doing the dance on November 10.
The trend spread across the NFL in no time after Bosa's dance. On November 17, Detroit Lions' Za'Darius Smith and Malcolm Rodriguez, Tennessee Titans wide receivers Calvin Ridley and Nick Westbrook-Ikhine, and Las Vegas Raiders tight end Brock Bowers performed the dance on the field.
The United States men's soccer team captain, Christian Pulisic, flaunted his moves with teammates Ricardo Pepi and Weston McKennie after scoring a goal against Jamaica in the 2024-25 CONCACAF Nations League quarterfinal. The match ended with a scoreline of 4-2 in favor of the Americans.
NFL declares that it has 'no issue' with the Trump dance celebrations
As per a report by Front Office Sports, the NFL is fine with players incorporating the viral dance challenge in their celebrations. In a statement published by Front Office Sports on November 19, NFL spokesperson Brian McCarthy said:
"There's no issue with a celebratory dance such as what took place [Sunday] or the previous week with the 49ers on Nov. 10. It's up to the networks to cover them as they see fit."
According to NFL rules, players are allowed to perform celebrations as long as they don't have violent or s*xual connotations and are not excessive in nature. Attires promoting various political agendas and opinions are also prohibited.
For instance, Nick Bosa performed the dance challenge just a day after the NFL fined him $11,255 for crashing a teammate's interview wearing a 'Make America Great Again' (MAGA) hat. MAGA has become one of the major political slogans of Donald Trump's campaign. The NFL star pointed at the slogan and walked away.
As per a report by CNN Sports, Bosa had said that any repercussions would be "well worth it" before the fine.
