What did WholeWheatPete and D-Piddy do? P Diddy and Justin Bieber cosplay video controversy explained as creator issues apology

Online creators WholeWheatPete and D-Piddy have raised eyebrows for cosplaying Sean “Diddy” Combs and Justin Bieber at a Texas-based convention. Many were displeased by the caricature considering the rapper was charged with s*x trafficking, racketeering conspiracy, and pr*stitution. After being heavily discussed online, WholeWheatPete and P-Diddy took to their respective Instagram to share an official apology.

D-Piddy took to his Instagram account earlier to share a video of himself and WholeWheatPete dressed as the two and carrying baby oil. In another portion of the video, D-Piddy was seen throwing money at a convention attendee.

For those uninitiated, law enforcement seized “more than 1,000 bottles of baby oil and lubricant” from Diddy’s Miami and Los Angeles residences, as per the federal indictment against the Sean Combs. It has also been alleged that the baby oil was used by Combs during his “freak off” parties.

X user @xz9365 took to the social networking site to share another video of the streamers filming themselves as the two singers in a restroom.

For the unversed, WholeWheatPeat initially went viral for his TikTok videos, with him garnering over two million followers on the video-sharing platform. He is also highly known for his Valorant and OSU! gaming streaming videos.

D-Piddy is immensely popular in the cosplaying community, with him initially garnering traction online for dressing up as Deadpool and parodying Psy’s Gangam Style hit track.

WholeWheatPete and D-Piddy took to Instagram to issue apologies for their cosplay

On November 1, WholeWheatPete took to his Instagram account to issue a public apology. In the caption of the video, he wrote:

“I have no excuses for these actions. My goal is to push the boundaries of cosplay content in exciting and unique ways, and never to disparage either the people portrayed in content, or the ones who view it. I am so sorry to everyone I have negatively impacted due to my mistake.”

Droz also said in his video that he is aware of causing “pain” and “suffering” to many people. He added:

“Guys, I am so truly, genuinely sorry and I am holding myself accountable to this. I understand that what I did was wrong.”

As per The Direct, Droz also took to the “close friends” section of his Instagram story to tell followers that he was “genuinely mad” at himself for his actions. He also added that he would take “an extended leave from content to spend more time reflecting and thinking about this.”

D-Piddy also took to Instagram to issue an apology on October 31. He told fans that he wanted them to know that he does not condone s*xual assault. He added:

“I did not consider how hurtful this would be to victims of s*xual assault. I did not realize how wearing a mask of a person of color would be an affront to those in the black community. I was wrong.”

D-Piddy also encouraged his followers to not share hateful comments against each other in the comment section of his Instagram page. He also said:

“Let this be an example for others on what NOT to do when trying to create content for the purpose of “entertainment.” Hopefully if any good can come out of this horrible situation, this can be a lesson for those hoping to film content for shock value and spectacle. It is not worth it. I own this mistake and will not hide it.”

Meanwhile, Diddy remains behind bars as he awaits his May 5, 2025 trial date.
