KCAL9/CBS2 news anchor Chauncy Glover passed away at the age of 39 in Los Angeles, California. However, the date and cause of his death weren't revealed at the time of writing this article. KCAL News broke the news of Glover's death on Tuesday, November 5, 2024.

Additionally, the anchor's family released a statement about his passing where they mentioned that they were "devastated by the unimaginable loss." The family added that he was a "beacon of light in [our] lives and a true hero to his community."

"His talent, warmth, and vision left an imprint on everyone who knew him, and the world is dimmer without him," Sherry and Robert Glover said in their statement.

Chauncy shifted to KCAL News in October 2023, before which he worked with an ABC affiliate, KTRK-TV Houston, for eight years. Since he had worked with ABC for nearly a decade, the news channel shared an emotional post on X stating that they were "heartbroken" to share the news of Glover's death.

“We're heartbroken to share that former ABC13 anchor Chauncy Glover has passed away at the age of 39. Chauncy was part of our team for nearly 9 years before moving to LA last year," the media outlet wrote.

The 39-year-old news anchor and journalist's sudden death left social media users and other journalists in shock. They took to X to pay tributes to him with many claiming that the "gifted" journalist would be "sorely missed."

“To be young, gifted and Black. Chauncey Glover you will be sorely missed. Baby when I tell you I was rooting for you. I can’t believe how heartbroken I feel right now. Praying for your family,” wrote one X user on the platform.
“I am shocked and so very sad to hear about Chauncy Glover's passing. I am heartbroken for his colleagues @kcalnews. You will be missed beyond measure,” added another.
“MY Mentor!!!! I grew up in a program with you. You changed my life a lot in the past 7 years. Whyyyyyyyy. Love you Chauncy. You did a lot for me in the CGP program. Rest easy. You have made a huge impact on my life,” exclaimed a netizen.

Chauncy Glover won multiple awards for his anchoring

Chauncy Glover was a popular news anchor and journalist who had won many awards for his anchoring, including three Emmy Awards. Chauncy, a native of Athens, Alabama, started working in the TV media as a reporter after he completed his education in journalism at Troy University.

The reporter also was a huge believer in uplifting his society and started the Chauncy Glover Project. According to The Sun, the program mainly focuses on uplifting and empowering young men.

In their statement after his death, Chauncy's family also spoke about the foundation and said that it had "changed countless lives."

“Chauncy's compassion and dedication to helping others, especially through the Chauncy Glover Project, changed countless lives and inspired so many young men to pursue their dreams,” the family said.

When Glover joined KTKR TV, he was a weekend morning anchor and was later promoted to the evening anchoring role in 2018.

While netizens continue to pour in tributes, the journalist's family has not yet revealed the details about his death, funeral, and memorial services.
