Wanda Smith, a popular comedian and radio host, has tragically passed away at 56, as announced by V-103 Radio. She was best known for co-hosting Frank and Wanda in the Morning on V-103.

She worked for the radio channel for more than two decades, however, she left her job in 2019. She was also known for her work in comedy, as Fox 5 Atlanta stated in their report that she was one of the writers on the TV series, Def Comedy Jam.

Wanda Smith was married to LaMorris Sellers and is now survived by their three kids, Tavares, Giovanni and Isaiah. At the moment, the family has not issued any statement about Smith’s death and has not revealed the cause of her passing away.

As the news about Wanda Smith's passing away spread on social media, many netizens began pouring in their tributes.

Atlanta's V-103 radio's Senior Vice President and Market Manager, Rick Caffey, confirmed the news of Smith's passing away. He stated that she breathed her last on Saturday, October 12, 2024, just a day after her birthday.

Rick stated:

"Our hearts are weighing heavier today as we grieve the loss of our beloved Wanda Smith, someone who always made us smile and who was a big part of V-103 for years. We extend our deepest prayers and condolences to her family.”

The statement also read:

“In her role at V-103, dating back to 2006, Wanda Smith brought so much joy and care servicing the Atlanta community. Wanda’s impact touched lives beyond making us laugh... Many times she championed efforts behind the scenes to make a difference in the lives of those who were without.”

The statement also mentioned that the radio channel will be paying their tribute on air during the Sunday Morning Praise with Larry Tinsley.

Talking about Wanda’s work and professional life, she has been seen in many movies, including Madea’s Witness Protection and Madea Goes to Jail. Furthermore, her philanthropic work is also much talked about as she founded “Girls Stand Together,” an initiative to promote female empowerment.

On the other hand, Wanda made her way into the news in 2018, when she had a spat with Katt Williams during a live show. Allegedly, the two started insulting one another, and as per The Root, the spat was one of the reasons for her exit from the radio channel.
