As per a report by News18, Elon Musk was one of the key backers of Donald Trump's presidential campaign, injecting at least $119 million. On November 20, the Tesla boss tweeted about Jeff Bezos, claiming that the Amazon founder implored people to sell their Tesla and SpaceX stocks. He wrote:
“Just learned tonight at Mar-a-Lago that Jeff Bezos was telling everyone that Donald Trump would lose for sure, so they should sell all their Tesla and SpaceX stock."
The tweet has caused quite a stir on social media with people across the internet reacting to the same. Some popular comments on X are as follows:

Jeff Bezos' owned The Washington Post over 8% of its subscribers over presidential endorsement debacle
The Washington Post reportedly lost over 200,000 subscribers after it decided not to endorse any candidate before the 2024 United States presidential elections. On October 25, i.e., 11 days before the election day, the publication reported that an article endorsing Kamala Harris was written but not published.
The publication further stated that their owner Jeff Bezos decided to refrain from endorsing a single candidate in the election. In the wake of the decision, several editorial board members resigned and over 200,000 subscribers (both print and digital) canceled their subscriptions.
The news was also accompanied by widespread backlash from across the internet. Many posts even quoted the Washington Post's slogan, i.e., "Democracy dies in Darkness" to describe the decision. Following the criticism, Bezos wrote an opinion piece in the newspaper, explaining that the decision was taken to prevent bias from rising from social media and publications.
"No undecided voters in Pennsylvania are going to say: ‘I’m going with Newspaper A’s endorsement.’ None. What presidential endorsements actually do is create a perception of bias. A perception of non-independence. Ending them is a principled decision, and it’s the right one," he wrote.
The move was also slammed by members of the organization. For instance, board members Molly Roberts and David Hoffman reportedly stepped down from their positions soon after the move. Similarly, reporters and columnists like Ruth Marcus, Bob Woodward, Carl Bernstein, and Pulitzer Prize winner Eugene Robinson lambasted the move by Bezos.
