"They thought he was Biden!" — Internet reacts to Bill Clinton stopping at a McDonald's in Georgia while campaigning for Kamala
On October 14, 2024, former US President Bill Clinton surprised customers and staff at a local McDonald's in Georgia as he made a stop while campaigning for Kamala Harris.
Clinton's Deputy Chief of Staff Angel Ureña took to X (formerly Twitter) to post the former president's encounter with the employees and customers at the fast food outlet wherein an employee at the counter failed to recognize him initially and mistook him for Joe Biden.
As Bill Clinton extended his hand in greeting, the employee recognized him and hugged the former president.
The video of the incident went viral on X and internet users were quick to express their opinions on the same. Commenting on how the employee might've mistaken Clinton for Joe Biden, an X user tweeted:

However, some internet users highlighted the fact that the McDonald's employee wasn't aware of who Clinton was, weakening the impact of Harris' campaign:

According to CNN dated August 21, 2024, Bill Clinton endorsed Kamala Harris in his speech at the Democratic National Convention wherein he told people about the choice they have for their president. Dubbing it a "clear choice", Clinton compared Trump and Kamala and mentioned:
“In 2024, we have a clear choice: ‘We The People’ versus ‘Me, Myself, and I.’ I know which one I like better for our country."
Clinton said that Harris would work to solve problems, ease the fears of the public, seize opportunities, and ensure that every American regardless of how they vote, have a chance to chase their dreams. Talking about his reasons for endorsing Kamala Harris, Bill Clinton said:
“Kamala Harris is the only candidate in this race with the vision, the experience, the temperament, the will, and yes — the sheer joy — to do that on good and bad days. To be our voice."
Moreover, Clinton also commented on his views on Donald Trump and called him a "paragon of consistency" reasoning the same by stating:
“He’s still dividing, he’s still blaming, he’s still belittling other people. He creates chaos, and then he sort of curates it, as if it were precious art. The next time you hear him, don’t count the lies. Count the ‘I’s’ ”
According to the Free Press Journal, Clinton's visit to McDonald's is related to his previous years as president, when he visited the food chain frequently and got clicked. The publication mentioned that the former president's love for McDonald's was parodied on Saturday Night Live multiple times.
