"What happened to Anne Heche and tWitch?" - Netizens raise questions as Ellen DeGeneres leaves the US for UK
On November 20, media outlet The Wrap exclusively reported that Ellen DeGeneres has permanently moved to rural England with her wife Portia de Rossi. The publication further mentioned how the talk show host plans never to return to the USA and has put their estate in Montecito, California, on the market.
As per The Wrap, a source close to the couple shared how their decision to shift abroad was motivated by Donald Trump’s re-election. In the wake of this revelation, the internet is raising questions.
Former US Assistant Secretary of the Treasury for Public Affairs and podcaster Monica Crowley shared a screenshot of The Wrap’s article and captioned it, “Self-deportations have already begun.” X user Nicole Victoria (@Victorious329) took to the comment section under this post and enquired, “Is Ellen on the list?” seemingly hinting that the comedian might be on some controversial list.
In response to the same, fellow user Maureen McGrath (@myspunkydream) wrote:
“Yes. It’s not because of Trump. What happened to tWitch and Anne Heche, Ellen?”
McGrath was implying that there was alleged foul play in the deaths of DeGeneres’ former associate Stephen “tWitch” Boss and ex-girlfriend, actress Anne Heche, which respectively happened in December and August 2022.
Many people shared similar reactions on the platform regarding Ellen DeGeneres’ move to the UK.
“What are they hiding? Will Trump and his team find incriminating stuff about these celebs when they take office? Sure is extreme to move country because Trump won,” a person wrote.
"She has skeletons in her closet. That’s the only reason she would be so afraid," a user wrote.
Some continued to raise their eyebrows about Anne Heche and tWitch's deaths.
“Mmhhmm… Yeah right! Anne Heche did not Un-alive herself on that gurney for no reason.. The trafficking exposure project she was working on was met with push back.. previously in a relationship with Ellen, & knew things many did not.. make no mistake her passing was a relief to her!” one person wrote.
“Me thinks Ellen doth protest too much… too bad her ex-girlfriend can’t chime in…” wrote another.
“After all of the things her staff said about her, should we warn the Brits?” a user asked.
Others continued to weigh in and claimed Ellen DeGeneres’ departure from the USA was reportedly connected to the long-anticipated Diddy/ Epstein list.
“Why are so many celebrities leaving? The Epstein list? The Diddy tapes? Both?” a netizen asked.
“If a certain list or two become available to the public?” another netizen asked.
“See ya, when you get extradited back home a la Diddy files,” another individual wrote.
According to The Wrap, Ellen DeGeneres and her wife Portia are currently living in Cotswold in south-central England. Meanwhile, her former primary residence in Montecito, 90 minutes north of Los Angeles, which she purchased in 2019, has been put up for sale. However, her properties in Southern California still remain.
Lately, the former comedian and TV personality has shared how she has been “kicked out of show business” after reports of creating a toxic work environment emerged in the last few years against her eponymous show. She openly discussed it in her recent Netflix stand-up show, For Your Approval, where she also shared how she was spending her time after exiting from show business.
Exploring Ellen DeGeneres’ alleged connection to tWitch, and Anne Heche with respect to Diddy
Ellen DeGeneres has shared a friendly relationship with Sean “Diddy” Combs over the years, with the latter often appearing as a guest on the former’s show. Not only that but in 2016, the comedian referred to the hip-hop mogul as “Cuddle McSnugglestuff” while wishing him on his birthday.
Amid Diddy’s arrest and federal indictment on the charges of s*x trafficking, racketeering conspiracy, transportation to engage in prostitution, and more in September, Ellen’s connection with the Bad Boy Records founder has come under scrutiny.
For instance, people online started questioning whether Diddy’s friendship with Ellen had something to do with tWitch’s death. Stephen Boss was a DJ turned executive producer of The Ellen DeGeneres Show who passed away in December 2022 at a Los Angeles Hotel, at the age of 40. Official reports ruled his death as a suicide by a gunshot wound to the head and concluded there was no foul play, as a suicide note detailing his past struggles was also found.
According to conspiracy theorists online, tWitch reportedly got hold of incriminating evidence against Diddy and his alleged accomplices from inside the industry, which may have contributed to his death. However, it is noteworthy that no credible evidence has been released to back up the speculations.
Meanwhile, in the aftermath of tWitch’s demise, Ellen took to her social media and shared how the DJ was like a “family” to her, and she was “heartbroken,” at the loss.
Four months before tWitch’s death, Ellen DeGeneres’ former girlfriend and actress Anne Heche also passed away in a road accident in August 2022. Ahead of her demise, Heche came forward with allegations against the comedian citing controlling behavior and blackballing her from the industry.
In the wake of Diddy’s arrest, viral conspiracy theories claimed that Diddy may have had something to do with Heche’s fatal car crash at the behest of his friend, Ellen DeGeneres. However, just like the tWitch theory, no concrete proof has ever come to light. Anne and Ellen dated from 1997 to 2000, and broke up "amicably" because things were simply not "working out."
Notably, no connection has been made between Diddy’s ongoing legal troubles and Ellen DeGeneres, at the time of writing.
