What is Tony Hinchcliffe's net worth? Career earnings of controversial Trump rally comedian explored

On Sunday, October 27, Tony Hinchcliffe took the stage at the Madison Square Garden in New York at the Donald Trump rally. The stand-up comedian made several jokes in his piece which sparked accusations of racism among the audiences gathered there, BBC reported.

Hinchcliffe started his career in stand-up comedy in 2007. According to Celebrity Net Worth, Tony's net worth is estimated to be $6 million, with his writing gig at the Comedy Central Roast and the Kill Tony podcast being his major income stream at the moment.

Among all the jokes Tony Hinchcliffe delivered at Madison Square, the ones about Puerto Ricans and Latinos stood out for their racial and stereotypical implications. The comedian also compared footballer Travis Kelce to OJ Simpson, which received a strong backlash from the Swifties on social media.

Tony Hinchcliffe started his career at The Comedy Store in California

Tony Hinchcliffe, born and raised in Youngstown, Ohio, moved to Los Angeles in 2007 at age 23 to pursue comedy. He began by performing at open mics at The Comedy Store, where he initially worked the phones and covered the booth before becoming a paid regular.

Soon after that, Tony began to open for other famous comedians like Jeff Ross and Joe Rogan on their tours. His dark sense of humor and roasting style appealed to Ross, who offered Hinchcliffe a writing position at this TV series, Comedy Central Roast.

In 2013, Tony Hinchcliffe moved on to produce his own podcast, Kill Tony, which he co-hosts alongside Briand Redban. The podcast features the hosts and a changing panel of celebrities and comedians acting as judges for amateur comedians. Kill Tony offers a stage for young comedians to showcase their talent and build a professional reputation.

In May 2021, Hinchcliff's insults toward Peng Dang, an Asian American comedian, during a stand-up set went viral, receiving online criticism that led his agency to drop him.

Tony Hinchcliffe made racist comments at the Madison Square Garden

The Donald Trump rally organized at the MSG featured 30 guest speakers, out of which Tony Hinchcliffe's set stood out for the racist jokes he made. One joke in particular that seemingly hurt the sentiments of all Puerto Ricans across the country was:

"There’s a lot going on. I don’t know if you know this but there’s literally a floating island of garbage in the middle of the ocean right now. I think it’s called Puerto Rico."

Beyond the island territory, Tony also targeted the Latinos in another one of his jokes, saying:

"these Latinos, they love making babies, they do. There's no pulling out. They don't do that, they come inside, just like they do to our country."

In one of his jokes, Hinchcliffe targetted Taylor Swift's boyfriend, Travis Kelce, likening him to OJ Simpson, which angered a lot of Swifties. Simpson was a successful football player from the 1990s, who was convicted of the murder of his wife and his best friend and imprisoned for the same in 1995.

Swifties took to X to criticize his joke for being in bad taste, with one user calling it "utterly offensive", while another pointed out that it was suggestively supportive of femicide.

The comedian attempted to defend his jokes by calling people out for "having no sense of humor," which also received negative comments.

Following Hinchcliffe's set, the Trump campaign has distanced itself from the comedian's remarks. Daniele Alvarez, the senior advisor of the Republican candidate, released a statement saying that the jokes made by Hinchcliffe did not reflect "the views of President Trump or the campaign."
