News anchor Chauncy Glover passed away from unknown causes at the age of 39, as reported by KCAL station on Tuesday, November 5, 2024. He was a part of KCAL-TV for around a year and was previously employed at KTRK in Houston for around eight years.

Meanwhile, journalist Mayra Moreno, a TV News Anchor for ABC13 Houston and a co-anchor of Glover, expressed her grief in an Instagram post shared on November 6, 2024. Mayra added a lineup of photos from the time when she worked with Chauncy alongside some happy moments they shared at different outdoor locations. She wrote:

Notably, the comments section was restricted to those being followed by Moreno on the social media platform. However, it was still full of tributes, where netizens recalled Chauncy Glover's work, with a few of them saying that they used to love Glover and Moreno's appearance on screen together.

According to Deadline, Chauncy's family also shared a statement after his demise, describing him as a "beacon of light" in everyone's lives and a "true hero" to their community. The family also mentioned:

"Chauncy's compassion and dedication to helping others, especially through the Chauncy Glover Project, changed countless lives and inspired so many young men to pursue their dreams. His talent, warmth, and vision left an imprint on everyone who knew him, and the world is dimmer without him."

Detailed information on Mayra Moreno's childhood remains unknown except that she grew up in Houston. Her bio on ABC13 says that she has covered various events in her successful career, including the Memorial Day floods in San Antonio in 2013 and 2015.

As per Mayra's LinkedIn page, she completed her higher studies at the University of Houston and started as an intern at FOX 26 Houston. She then worked at various places for around six years, including KPFT 90.1 Radio, KHOU 11 News Houston, KRGV-TV Channel News 5, and the Houston Airport System.

In 2009, she became a Reporter Fill-in Anchor for KIAH-TV. After leaving the channel in 2011, she joined KENS as an Anchor for Eyewitness New Saturday Morning for around four years. She has also served a similar position for Disney ABC Television Group since 2015.

As mentioned, she shared a close friendship with Chauncy Glover over the years. However, detailed information on when and where the duo exactly met remains unknown for now.

Moreno also had an opportunity to work with Chauncy Glover while he was at ABC13. During the 6:30 pm newscast on August 1, 2023, Glover announced he was leaving the station after eight years. Chauncy Glover developed an interest in the news at a very young age as he used to spend his Sundays at an anchor desk made by his father. According to CBS News, he completed his higher studies at Troy University and started his career at the Georgia-based station, WTVM News Leader 9.

He continued working at other places like CBS 47, Fox 30, and WDIV Local 4. He became famous after joining KTRK ABC-13 as a Weekend Morning Anchor in 2015 and became the Evening Anchor in 2018.

Glover was a recipient of different accolades and received the title of one of the most Stylish Houstonians from the Houston Chronicle. He even established a mentorship program called The Chauncy Glover Project and was a part of different Off-Broadway shows.
