"Who's gonna tell him?" — Internet reacts to TikToker saying he will leave US and move to Hawaii after Trump's presidential win
On November 8, 2024, Charlie Kirk, host of a show in his own name posted a video of a TikToker on X, declaring his move from the U.S. due to Trump's presidential win. The TikToker @chr.justin announced he'll be moving to Hawaii and said:
"Okay so since Trump won the election, we're cooked ya'll. I'm gonna be leaving the U.S. and I'm gonna be moving to Hawaii. So, we'll how it goes and I'll update you guys."
The TikToker's post garnered a lot of attention and internet users were quick to express their opinions on the same via X. Commenting on the TikToker's video, an X user referred to the fact that Trump would still remain his president given Hawaii is the 50th state under the U.S. territory:
"Who’s gonna tell him?"
"I’m so upset my Governor is Gretchen Whitmer I’m moving to the U.P" an X user commented.
"This reminds me when Alyssa Milano traded in her Tesla for a Volkswagen saying musk was a Nazi." another X user referred to the 2022 incident of Alyssa Milano trading her Tesla for a Volkswagen and internet users informing her that the latter brand was founded by the Nazi Party.
"Wow. Poor Hawaii. Wait until he realizes that Hawaii is under the same President 🤣" an internet user commented.
Additionally, netizens also mocked the TikToker for making an uninformed statement:
"This is a great example of why we need to abolish the department of education!" an X user tweeted.
"That has to be parody." another X user mentioned.
"Make grade school education great again! 😂 "an internet user commented.
"At the end of the day there is a right and there is a wrong" — Hawaii's governor mentioned hours before Trump became president
As per Honolulu Civil Beat's report dated November 6, 2024, Josh Green, the governor of Hawaii spoke at the Democratic Party of Hawaii’s election night party on November 5, 2024, just hours before some national news outlets declared Trump as the president.
Commenting on the consequences of Trump winning the election before the final result was declared, Josh Green said at the Inspiration Hawaii Museum:
“And at the end of the day there is a right and there is a wrong. And we have to remember that if the country makes a mistake — and it would be a mistake to put a person of like Donald Trump back into the White House — we have to remember that there is an absolute, at times, to fight for people, to care for people.”
The governor expressed concern for his 17-year-old daughter, who will start college next year, saying it’s painful to think someone could run for office without regard for women. Seemingly referring to the current U.S. president, Josh Green suggested that the president misuses his power and fails to support women’s interests.
While Donald Trump became the 47th president of the United States on November 6, 2024, his opponent Kamala Harris won Hawaii and the state's four electoral votes as per Fox 59 News. Harris's win in Hawaii marked the tenth consecutive presidential election in which Hawaii supported a Democratic candidate.
