President Joe Biden cast his vote in Delaware, his hometown, on October 28, 2024, wherein he stood behind a MAGA supporter in the voting line. According to Times Now, Biden was standing nine spots behind a man who wore a red hat with MAGA (Make America Great Again) written on it. The president reportedly waited for over 30 minutes to cast his vote.

Pictures of the 81-year-old president standing outside Wilmington polling place to cast his vote went viral on the internet and netizens were quick to express their opinions on the same.

Ahead of the U.S. elections on November 5, 2024, President Joe Biden celebrated Diwali at the White House on October 28. The event witnessed the presence of more than 600 Indian American congressmen, executives, and other important personalities.

Biden addressed the attendees of the Diwali celebration by mentioning that the South Asian American community "has enriched every part of American life." Calling it a fast-growing and the most engaged community in the world, Biden said that Diwali is celebrated proudly and openly in the White House.

The president further said:

“As President, I have been honored to host the biggest Diwali receptions ever at the White House. To me, it means a great deal. As Senator, Vice President, and President; South Asian Americans have been key members of my staff."

Talking about the dissent existing in a country as diverse as America, Joe Biden said "this is not my house; this is your house" and added that currently the country is facing an inflection point. The president said that every once in a few generation, people are reminded not to take the Idea of America for granted. He added that the American democracy hasn't been easy.

Joe Biden mentioned:

"In a country as diverse as ours, we debate, we dissent... but the key is, we never lose sight of how we got here and why."

He also lit the formal diya in the Blue Room of the White House, thanking the South Asian American community for its role in American democracy.


Joe Biden announced that he won't continue his bid for re-election in July 2024 stating that it was in the best interests of the country and the Democratic Party that he withdraws from the race. Moreover, he endorsed Kamala Harris to be the nominee for the 2024 presidential elections.
