The hashtag #unwatchable started trending on X as users vented their disappointment. Commenting on the buffering issue, an X user tweeted:

In addition to internet users, Dave Portnoy, founder of Barstool Sports tweeted multiple times to express his discontent with the streaming service during Mike Tyson and Jake Paul's boxing event. On November 16, 2024, Portnoy tweeted that he is "in the classic torture chamber" where he can't tell if his internet keeps going out or whether the streaming platform is constantly buffering and is unwatchable for everyone.
In a follow-up tweet, Dave Portnoy mentioned:
"So the reports are in. #netflix wasnt ready for this. This is unwatchable."
Apart from Portnoy, sports commentator Skip Bayless also criticized the streaming platform's bandwidth and tweeted:
"I've been having streaming issues during live action on Netflix -- and I'm dreading freezing and buffering during Paul-Tyson. I guess servers just don't have the bandwith for the worldwide magnitude of this."
The boxing event between Jake Paul and Mike Tyson was the streaming platform's first live sports event and it ended with Jake Paul being declared the winner at the end of eight rounds.
After winning the fight Jake Paul mentioned that it was an honor fighting Mike Tyson calling him a legend and "the GOAT". Jake said that he looks up to Tyson and is inspired by him. Mike Tyson also praised Jake Paul calling him a "very good fighter".

According to the Times of India dated November 16, 2024, people began reporting issues with the streaming platform on Downdetector at 8:12 pm EST and the complaints rose to 99,494 reports by 10:45 pm EST.
