Chris Jericho and The Inner Circle hosted an "Appreciation Celebration" to open the show!

AEW Dynamite continues to be one of the most consistent Pro-Wrestling shows on television today.

It was an eventful night for Le Champion, Chris Jericho, who took part in his own "Appreciation Celebration" to kick off the episode! We also have a new contender for the AEW Title, and that man is Jon Moxley.

What strikes me as quite intriguing is that on an episode where show-stealers like Kenny Omega, Chris Jericho, Jon Moxley, and Cody are featured to appear, we also have side-acts like Orange Cassidy and the Dark Order segments popping up in between.

Sure, not all of it might work, as the introduction of a new tag team featuring Allie fell flat this week. Nevertheless, it is something different and experimental at the same time.

Here are a few interesting observations from this week's AEW Dynamite (27th November 2019):

#3: The AEW Women's Division hasn't done enough to build compelling characters

Last night, Bea Priestly & Emi Sakura defeated Kris Statlander & Hikaru Shida via pinfall in what was one of the better women's matches we have seen on AEW Dynamite so far.

But even someone as experienced as The Undertaker will tell you that a wrestler's character is more important than their moves.

As talented as the women of AEW are in the ring, all we have seen so far are a set of gimmicks that don't have an added dimension to them in the first place.

For example, Emi Sakura's Freddie Mercury gimmick was a cute little tribute at first, but as time went on, it seemed clear that audiences weren't as invested in it. This is because the tribute doesn't tell us a whole lot about who Emi Sakura is.

This doesn't mean that the AEW Women's Division isn't capable of greatness. We have seen a lot of good matches so far, but storytelling is all about compelling characters in the end.
