Dean Ambrose seems as if he might be leaving the WWE after Wrestlemania. Here are five things that could be driving the Lunatic Fringe away from the biggest wrestling company on the planet. When it comes to his approach to pro wrestling, Dean Ambrose is decidedly an old school type of character.

Ambrose would be right at home in the 1980s in a smoky bingo hall, slugging it out with the likes of Dick Murdoch and Dusty Rhodes. He would also be able to thrive in an environment like 1990s WCW, during the Monday Night War, where his propensity for violence and unpredictable behaviour would be a tremendous boon.

However, one place that doesn't seem to be quite right for Dean Ambrose is the world's largest pro wrestling organization, the WWE. Dean Ambrose has been on the main roster of the WWE for just over six years, having come up from NXT with his fellow Shield brothers, Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns.

But while Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins have seen their stock grow by the year, Dean Ambrose has struggled to remain relevant in the WWE. Even though he had a world championship title reign, a lack of worthy challengers and lacklustre booking made his run ultimately forgettable.

It was broken on the internet that Dean Ambrose will not be resigning with WWE after his contract expires in April of this year. Understanding why he made this decision means understanding Dean Ambrose the man. Here are five reasons why Dean Ambrose is unsatisfied with working in the WWE.

#1 The WWE doesn't acknowledge his Independent Scene Legend status

One of the most frustrating things many stars find about working for WWE is the fact that the promotion does not like to acknowledge that other wrestling companies exist.

This led to Ring of Honor and New Japan star El Generico being forced to relinquish his mask and identity and become Sami Zayn. It also has led to men like Colt Cabana, who was well known to wrestling fans, being re-christened to Scotty Goldman.

The WWE did the same thing, changing Jon Moxley into Dean Ambrose, a name they already had under copyright before Johnathon Good, the man who plays both characters, was even signed. Dean Ambrose is quite proud of his independent scene legend status, and the fact that he worked his way to the top through effort. WWE's refusal to acknowledge such has been a constant source of frustration to the Lunatic Fringe.
