AEW News: Double or Nothing event is now officially sold out
What's the story
As to be expected, AEW's "Double or Nothing" is completely sold out! What makes this fascinating, however, is that they were able to sell out the event in just 4 minutes!!
In case you didn't know...
AEW first announced the birth of the company at midnight (PST) on January 1st 2019 during a special YouTube episode of "Being the Elite". Also, the first event entitled "Double or Nothing", which will serve as the successor to the independent event arranged by Cody Rhodes & The Young Bucks last year, "All In", that surpassed all expectations and did extremely well. Since this time multiple rallies have been held with wrestling fans to include signings such as Christopher Daniels, Frankie Kazarian, MJF, PAC (Neville), Jimmy Havoc, Joey Janela, Pentagon Jr., Rey Fenix, Britt Baker, Penelope Ford, and let us not forget their two biggest signings to date, Chris Jericho and Kenny Omega! Needless to say, these are just some of the names that have been announced at this time, but you can bet the company will have a stacked roster by the time Double or Nothing rolls around.
The heart of the matter
Tickets went on sale yesterday evening, and as expected the websites crashed as wrestling fans overloaded the servers to purchase their tickets. AEW is expecting to fill around 14,000-15,000 in the arena, to the maximum capacity. However, the company is expecting requests up to approximately 22,000+, which is a big deal but can pose for a challenge to fill in additional seats. Nevertheless, that's a great number for AEW!
What's next
You can catch AEW's Double or Nothing live from Las Vegas, Nevada at the MGM Grand on May 25th. As of this time, no time-slot has been announced or where they will be airing the show so I look for those announcements to be coming very soon. Odds are we will be seeing the show streamed live on YouTube, FiteTV and of course local Pay-Per-View markets across the globe. Right now, the headlining match for the show is going to be Chris Jericho versus Kenny Omega in a long awaited rematch that is certain to tear the roof off the MGM Grand. Cody Rhodes will be wrestling an unnamed opponent that is yet to be announced, but it being teased as a big surprise.
