AEW News: Two former WWE Champions officially sign with All Elite Wrestling
What's the story?
The AEW Rally was a huge success, hyping fans up for their upcoming event, Double or Nothing, in May. It doesn't hurt that they've signed on two big stars to fill out their roster.
In case you didn't know...
Cody Rhodes, The Young Bucks, and the owners of AEW Shad & Tony Khan, made a big splash when they announced the formation of the company. Leading up to the rally today, several wrestlers signed on, including SoCal Uncensored and Britt Baker.
While the roster was starting to form, and already had some solid star power in the Elite, they were still missing some big names that would elevate them. Though reports have arisen claiming Kenny Omega has signed on, there's yet to be any official confirmation.
However, AEW delivered on some big signings today, including two former WWE Champions.
The heart of the matter
During Adam "Hangman" Page's segment at the AEW Double or Nothing Rally, he was interrupted by Dragon Gate Open the Dream Gate Champion Pac, who seemed to challenge Page to a match, and announced that he had joined the promotion.
Later on, as the event was winding down to a close, Chris Jericho appeared and revealed that he was "All In" with AEW. A tweet from the official AEW Twitter showed Jericho signing his contract with Tony Khan.
What's next?
All Elite Wrestling will host their first event, Double or Nothing, on May 25th at the MGM Grand Hotel Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. As we move closer to the event, we're sure to see some exciting talent sign on.
And with Page and Pac starting an angle over the AEW Championship, and the addition of Chris Jericho, the main card of the company is already looking bright.
