Could we see Bruce Prichard return to Impact Wrestling in 2018?

What’s the story?

During a recent interview with the Wrestling Inc Podcast, former Senior Vice-President of Programming for Impact Wrestling, Bruce Prichard discussed his last run with the company and also revealed the reason why he departed from Impact Wrestling.

In case you didn’t know…

In 2010, Bruce Prichard was hired by Impact Wrestling to presumably reprise the role he had in WWE working as a backstage agent and producer. Two years later, Prichard was promoted to the Vice President of Talent Relations position, as a replacement for Terry Taylor, however, later that same year, the 54-year-old was promoted to Senior Vice President, Programming & Talent Relations and in his new role, Prichard was in charge of talent relations, talent scouting and as well as took care of the development of the creative direction of the company.

The heart of the matter

While speaking with Wrestling Inc, Prichard opened up about his departure from Impact Wrestling and also claimed that he is currently open to returning to the company in the near future. According to Prichard, the reason why he had to leave the Impact Zone after such a short stint is that he had other responsibilities that he had already committed to prior to re-signing with Impact.

"The door's not closed. It was a situation if we were doing more live shows and my schedule conflicted with their television taping schedule," Prichard said.

Additionally, Prichard, who appeared on RAW 25 also said that he enjoyed his run with Impact Wrestling because during his time with the promotion he did not have to work as a backstage official and was rather an on-screen talent, a role that suited him more at this stage of his career. However, Prichard knew for the fact that he eventually would have to leave the Impact Zone at some point so Jim Cornette decided to fire him.

“I had a great run there, I had fun, I had an absolute blast going in there and working with those guys because I got to do it strictly as a talent. But the time just came that I knew that was my last day, and so Corny fired me, put a nice little bow on it so I can leave and quietly left and no one ever reported that I was gone from there," Prichard added.

What’s next?

As of right now, we will have to wait and see if Impact Wrestling decides to bring back Prichard to the company or not, however, we now for the fact that Prichard is indeed open to a return to the company.

Author’s Take

I think Bruce Prichard did a pretty good job during his time with the Impact management and I believe that the former Brother Love is someone who can definitely help Impact Wrestling in a lot of various manners.
