NJPW News: Cody Rhodes reacts to his heated altercation against Kenny Omega at New Year's Dash
What's the story?
During yesterday's NJPW: New Year's Dash event at the Korakeun Hall, two of Bullet Club's most elite members Cody Rhodes and Kenny Omega seemingly got into a heated altercation with each other. However, hours after their dispute, Cody decided to act like the bigger man as he addressed the situation on social media.
In case you didn't know...
Kenny Omega and Cody have had issues with each other in the past, most notably during last year's Dominion pay-per-view and the G1 specials in the US. Also during this week's New Year's Dash event, Cody and some of the members of the Bullet Club were determined to put a sadistic beating on Kota Ibushi before Kenny Omega stormed into the ring and saved his former Golden Star tag team partner, which eventually led to the argument between the IWGP US Champion and "The American Nightmare".
The heart of the matter
Following his intense argument with Kenny Omega at the Korakeun Hall, Cody decided to take it to his official Twitter handle as he claimed that he has apologized to his BC leader Kenny Omega for his sickening actions in Tokyo last night.
Besides, the former Ring of Honor World Champion also insisted that things may have got heated last night but the disputes between him and Omega is now done and dusted, and it is now time to move on.
What's next?
Judging by the events that took place at New Year's Dash, it is now likely that Kenny Omega will defend his IWGP US Championship against Jay White in the future. As for Cody, he is still entitled to an ROH World Title rematch against Dalton Castle.
However, one thing is for sure now that things certainly look a bit shaken up between the Bullet Club and there is definitely a strong possibility of a dissension in the group, in the near future.
Author's Take
A match between Cody and Omega is certainly bound to happen in the future and it will be a classic when it happens. Both Omega and Cody are among two of the biggest stars in the world of Pro Wrestling today and their match will surely be a spectacle. In my opinion, the match could take place at some big NJPW event or maybe at this year's G1 Climax.
