WWE Hall of Famer Harley Race's son to challenge for NWA World's Heavyweight Championship March 9, 2019
Eight-Time NWA World’s Heavyweight Champion and WWE Hall of Famer Harley Race’s World League Wrestling will be hosting its annual mega-event “Night of Champions” on Saturday March 9, 2019.
This event continues to sell out just outside of St. Louis, Missouri and this year will not be an exception.
At Night of Champions 4, son of Harley Race - Leland Race - will challenge Nick Aldis for the NWA World’s Heavyweight Championship title.
While many wrestlers and fans are focused on Aldis’ most recent challenger Marty Scurll, Leland Race has been quoted in saying the following:
"I think many may be surprised by March 9th. So many people are talking about Marty Scurll versus Nick Aldis on April 27th, but there are many people who are forgetting that March 9th, I challenge for that very same title”.
Harley Race has gone on record as to say the following -
“I am a former NWA World’s Heavyweight Champion. I know what it takes to be that person and right now Nick Aldis is that person. He is handling the pressures of being champion very well by having challengers literally from all over the globe. That’s what it is about. Proving you’re the best in the world day in and day out. I believe that the next person in line to become world’s heavyweight champion is my son as he has learned from the absolute best. March 9th is just three weeks away. I think people will see a new champion crowned that night”.
