What’s the story?

Last night on Raw, Natalya was attacked by the Riott Squad. According to Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer Radio, the angle was done to write the former Smackdown Women’s champion off television as she has an elbow injury. Ember Moon replaced Natalya as Rousey’s partner and the two were successful in defeating Nia Jax and Tamina.

However, the WWE Raw Women’s champion appears to have unfinished business with the culprits who took out her original tag team partner and friend. Rousey posted a message venting about what transpired on RAW and teases a possible reunion with her four horsewomen members.

 In case you didn’t know…

Ronda Rousey, Shayna Baszler, Jessamyn Duke and Marina Shafir all dubbed themselves the four horsewomen on MMA. The company has previously teased Rousey and her crew back in 2017 during Shayna Baszler’s time in the Mae Young Classic.

The Four Horsewomen had a face-off of WWE’s horsewomen, which is Charlotte Flair, Becky Lynch, Sasha Banks and Bayley.

According to Cagesideseats, the first interaction between the two stables came after Baszler’s second round match, in which she mouthed off to Bayley, Becky Lynch and Charlotte Flair while exiting the ring area. This led to a verbal confrontation between the two stables and then a staredown between the female factions.

Rumors swirled that the company was setting up a MMA Horsewomen vs. WWE Horsewomen at Survivor Series with the company even filming an angle strongly teasing a future match down the line.

However, it was reportedly dropped and while speculation ramped up again that the two factions could clash at this year’s Survivor Series, nothing of note happened that seemed to indicate that the factions would be facing off soon.

Jessamyn Duke and Marina Shafir made their official WWE NXT debuts by helping Shayna Baszler recapture the NXT Women’s championship at WWE Evolution. The three women remain in the development brand as Ronda Rousey is on top of the flagship show.

The heart of the matter

Ronda penned a message on Instagram over the Riott Squad attacking Natalya and then getting off easy by being sent home. Rousey makes it clear that it isn’t over between her and the Riott Squad and teases the possibility of bringing up more allies to assist her on the main roster:

Last night started with me and @natbynature in the eye of a bullshit storm getting jumped by both team #MuteForce and the #RiotSquad. @natbynature was taken out of action for the night, #riotsquad was sent home.... @niajaxwwe and @saronasnukawwe thought they dodged a bullet and could weasel out of our tag match that night... But #MuteForce has more enemies than just me, and I have more allies than just @natbynature ....

What’s next?

There’s no word on when Duke, Shafir, and Baszler will join Rousey on the main roster. The RAW Women’s champion has to deal with Nia Jax at TLC first then according to numerous sources, Rousey will be facing off against Charlotte Flair and then Becky Lynch during WrestleMania season.
