Anime Shadow is an experience where you use pets in battle and earn rewards for prevailing. It has received an update that adds a brand-new mechanic to the core gameplay loop: Fishing. The Fishing mechanic has been introduced with the Fish update, which gives you a Starter Rod by default. You can equip it using the number key 1 and cast a line out with the Left Mouse Button. Press the Left Mouse Button again to reel the line back in while the fish bites or simply reset the rod.

This mechanic is accompanied by an abundance of fish and resources you can obtain from the water pools across the map. You can either continue fishing with the Starter Rod or get new ones from the Beginner Chests.

You can fish in the starter area and the Dragon World to obtain various resources. Explore the mechanic thoroughly to collect unique loot that cannot be obtained elsewhere.

New Dungeon, Auto-Lock, and quality-of-life changes

In addition to the Fishing mechanic, the game adds a new Dungeon for you to explore and collect items. The Dungeon includes brand-new artifacts to claim, making it worth traversing through the crypt and looking for every possible item while exploring it.

A major gameplay adjustment with the Fish update includes the Auto-Lock mechanic, which automatically locks any Mythic, Secret, or Exclusive units you pull. This prevents any instances of accidentally selling a valuable unit, making it a great QoL change.

Other quality-of-life changes include the following:

Boosted Cursed Plasma chance.
Boosted Curse Essence chance.
Keep curses upon evolution.
Implemented Star opening sounds.
Added a Dungeon countdown.
Mobile fishing is possible.
