Color or Die Chapter 3 guide

Color or Die is a survival horror game where you must navigate a maze to find all paint brushes without being caught by the monster. With four distinct levels to conquer, this experience is all about keeping a close eye on your surroundings as you scour the environment for the brushes. The game’s third chapter is among the most difficult, featuring Claude as its main threat.

This guide covers Chapter 3 of Color and Die, giving you directions to clear the chapter and find all the paintbrushes scattered across the map.

Accessing Chapter 3 in Color or Die

Color or Die Chapter 3 can be accessed from the lobby by entering the room with the two elevators. One of these elevators takes you to Chapter 2, while the other teleports you to the third stage. These elevators can be accessed from the hub areas of any of the other chapters.

Once you enter the elevator, a 10-second countdown timer begins that teleports you to the Chapter 3 hub when it reaches zero.

Clearing Chapter 3 in Color or Die

This section will give you a detailed walkthrough of Chapter 3 in Color or Die. Note that the featured monster, Claude, is known for being highly aggressive. So, we advise caution while scouring this map for paint buckets, paint brushes and tools.

Here’s how you can clear Chapter 3 in Color or Die:

Like the other chapters, pick up the red paint bucket after opening the initial maze door. Walk to the left to enter the maze and begin your scavenging hunt.
Go in a straight line from the entrance point to find the first paintbrush. Turn back and go through the first left path you see.
Hug the wall on the right and follow it along until you see the red door. Open it by mashing the Left Mouse Button and collect the orange paint bucket inside.
Next to the red door is a blue wall with a small slot. Enter it to pick up the second paintbrush and leave through the other slot.
Turn diagonally right and continue walking in a straight line. Remember the location of the bullseye wall; it will become important later. Take the next right to open the orange door and pick up the yellow paint bucket and the third paintbrush.
Walk straight and turn right at the red wall for the fourth paintbrush.
Face away from the bullseye wall, turn right and walk towards the left. Move to the left once more when you reach the corner for the fifth paintbrush.
Go around the corner to find the slot on the orange wall. Walk forward and turn right at the purple wall for the sixth paintbrush.
Turn back and move forth until you see the yellow door to the left. Open it and proceed through the door to find an obstacle course.
Clear the obstacle course, pick up the hacksaw tool, and leave through the door.
From the exit, turn right and take another right at the cyan wall. You should see a green door to the right, which you must remember for later. Walk past it and take a left for the seventh paintbrush.
Facing the green door, turn left and proceed past the cyan wall. Maneuver around the corner and go through the slot in the yellow wall.
Go along the turn you spot at the blue wall. Take a diagonal left and go through the passage next to the yellow wall for the eighth paintbrush.
Leave the area and turn right. You should see a valve directly ahead, which you can activate using E. Now, interact with every valve in the area, which will extend the bridge, opposite the first valve.
Make your way across the bridge and use the hacksaw on the bars. Collect the green paint bucket and return to the first area.
Go back to the green door to procure the fire extinguisher and the ninth paintbrush.
Turn around and take a right, cornering around the cyan wall. Walk through the slot in the wall to find a path blocked by fire. Use the fire extinguisher to clear the path and get the teal paint bucket inside.
Leave the path and walk straight ahead until you reach the end to nab the 10th paintbrush.
Return to the yellow door and clear the obstacle course to access the teal door. Use the paint bucket to open it and pick up the 11th paintbrush and the grappling hook tool.
Return to the bridge, cross it, and climb the wall using the grappling hook. The grapple point is indicated by an icon on the orange wall. Get the blue paint bucket and return to the main area.
Go back to the red door and unlock the blue door inside. Here, you will come across the purple paint bucket, along with the 12th paintbrush.
Close to the yellow door and ladder, you will find the purple door. Unlock it with the paint bucket and complete the obstacle course to collect the laser gun.
Leave through the door and turn right upon exiting the hallway. You will find a staircase at the end, which leads to the 13th paintbrush if you stick to the left path.
Go back to the bullseye wall and shoot it down with the laser gun. Collect the 14th paintbrush and the pink paint bucket.
The pink door is near the yellow door, opposite one of the valves you turned earlier. Open it and nab the key and the 15th paintbrush.
The door for the key is across the bridge. Use the key to open the lock and pick up the final paintbrush. Now, the path to the exit will have opened up, previously indicated by a wall with the number of collected paint brushes.
Return to the bridge, climb the ladder inside and drop down at the end. Stick to the right wall until you see a black-and-white space in the far wall with a door at the very end. Pick up the white paint bucket and return to the safe zone.

With the white paint bucket in your possession, you can open the white door in the hub area to access the different Escape endings. Try to avoid death when accessing any of these endings since it will reset your progress, necessitating a restart.
