Feather Family Partridge guide
Feather Family lets you roleplay as a bird in an open world, where you can join flocks, explore the map, and create unique scenarios with friends. It includes a large selection of birds to play as ranging from common birds, like sparrows, to rare ones like griffin and phoenix. The latest avian species to join its roster is the Partridge, a standard bird that has two types.
This article breaks down the Partridge bird in Feather Family, giving you every piece of information needed to learn all about it.
Breaking down the Partridge bird in Feather Family
Overview
The Partridge is a small bird with limited flight capabilities that was added to the game on November 29, 2024. It belongs to the Standard bird pool, along with species like sparrows, pheasants, chickens, etc.
You can use this bird’s Hatchling and Adult forms during gameplay. Hatchlings have the ability to grow up at the press of an on-screen button at any point during the session. However, once they are fully grown, re-selecting the Hatchling requires you to return to the bird selection screen.
Partridge comes in two types: the Chukar Partridge and the Grey Partridge. The differences between the two types are fairly minimal, being limited to their sizes, calls and minor model differences.
True to its real-life counterpart, the Partridge can only fly a short distance before requiring a short break. This break causes the flight button (Q by default) to enter a cooldown state that ends after a few seconds. However, you can sprint infinitely as a Partridge, just like the other avian species in the game.

How to unlock
Being a bird in the Standard pool, the Partridge does not have any unlock requirements for any of its variants. It is available by default and can be selected from the bird selection menu at any time.
Customization
Like the other species, the adult Partridge bird receives the complete suite of customization options, which includes color options for the following elements:
- Eyes
- Beak
- Head
- Chest
- Body
- Wings
- Legs
- Tail
- Coverts
- Primary feathers
- Secondary feathers
- Talons
- Facial streak
You may also apply three realism preset colors to your bird: the Wild Chukar, the Arabian, and the Domestic White. These presets make your bird truer to its real-life counterpart, which certain roleplay situations can benefit from.
Note that not all of these features are available for Hatchling. It does not have access to Coverts, Primary feathers, Secondary feathers, Talons and Facial streak customization options, making its personalization somewhat limited next to its adult counterpart.
