Breaking down Go Fishing update 1.65
Update 1.65 introduces the second part of the Christmas Event update. The most significant addition it makes to the game is the Christmas Village event map. It can be found a short distance from the starter island and requires you to purchase a boat or raft of any kind to reach it.
Most of the newest fish can be found in this limited-time location, which is expected to last for the remainder of the holiday season. These fish include the following:
- 1 in 250 Christmas Fish
- 1 in 400 Duck
- 1 in 750 Reindeer Horse
- 1 in 1,500 Grinchfish
- 1 in 3,200 Magic Deer
- 1 in 7,000 Santashark
- 1 in 25,000 Santa Siren
- 1 in 50,000 Christmas Shark
- 1 in 300,000 Big Santafish
- 1 in 500,000 Gift Hunter
- 1 in 1.5 million Three-Headed Grinch
- 1 in 2.5 million Christmas Beast
- 1 in 4.5 million Giant Worm
- 1 in 10 million Shadowclaus
While fishing on the island, you can also randomly receive a Gift instead of a fish. Gifts act as crates that can be merged and upgraded to a higher rarity if you have 10 of the low-rarity ones. In total, there are four types of Gifts to collect: Small, Medium, Large, and Giant. The Giant is the highest rarity box and consequently, it gives the best rewards.
Additionally, a new Ultra Rare fish type called the Mech Monster can be caught in the Ocean’s Toxic Zone. This fish is noted to be the hardest to catch in the game, with the pull odds being 1 in 35 million. Be sure to use your best fishing rod, bait, and potion combination to nab the aquatic beast.
A major quality-of-life feature allows you to lock your fish to avoid accidentally selling them when hitting the Sell All button at the Trader’s. This can be beneficial for collection purposes or if you wish to save the Cash for later.
