Jujutsu Beatdown movement guide
Jujutsu Beatdown is a high-octane fighter experience set on a large city map, where you and other Robloxians battle to determine who is the strongest. Being an arena brawler, mastering movement is an important first step towards reaching the skill ceiling of this game. With multiple types of movement tech to keep in mind, it is crucial to position and utilize your tools effectively during battle.
This article breaks down the different types of movement in Jujutsu Beatdown and how to use them in combat.
Movement tech in Jujutsu Beatdown
Basic movement
Basic movement includes the most rudimentary types of inputs, such as running, jumping, and dashing. These types of tech are commonly seen in most fighter titles, so if you are familiar with Roblox brawlers, this should feel natural to you.
You can run by pressing W, S, A, or D, while jump and dash are assigned to the space bar and Q, respectively. These inputs can be combined with the regular attack button (left mouse button) for unique attack animations and different combo starters and enders. For instance, using the space bar and left mouse button simultaneously results in an uppercut, which leads to an Air Combo.
Knowing when to use these tools mid-battle is essential to your success, particularly when defensive play is involved. After all, you won’t always have priority in combat. Sometimes, finding the right opportunity to dash away and retaliate can win you a fight.

Rolling, sliding, and double jumping
The more advanced side of movement in this experience includes rolling, sliding, and double jumping. Rolling is the least likely to occur mid-battle simply because it triggers automatically when falling or getting off a set of Rails. That said, rolls do grant you additional momentum and improve your jumping distance, which can lead to interesting combo starters.
You can perform slides using left Ctrl anywhere, with their effectiveness being the highest on slopes. Sliding builds up momentum rather quickly and leaving the animation at the peak of your speed gives you a movement and jump boost. The act of leaving a slide early is called slide cancel, which is performed using the jump button.
Lastly, double jumps can be performed at any time to gain access to a unique ground pound attack. Hit the jump button and at the peak of your leap, press it again to jump again. The movement mechanic is also a useful traversal tool, allowing you to cross obstacles that a single jump couldn’t.
Note that you cannot use the double jump feature multiple times in quick succession since it enters a cooldown state after activation. This is to disincentivize passive play or running away mid-battle, preventing the misuse of the mechanic.
Combine these movement options to flank the opponent and maintain the upper hand in battle.
