Liar’s Club: A beginner’s guide

Liar’s Club is a card game where you must bluff your way to victory against other players. Each player is dealt a hand of five, where failure to guess the other Robloxian’s cards has a one-in-six chance of death. With every subsequent round, the odds of death increase, culminating in a guaranteed death if one of the players guesses wrong too many times.

Here’s how you can get started with Liar’s Club on Roblox and how its ruleset works.

Liar’s Club is a simple game about lying, as the title suggests. This four-player Roblox experience involves pulling bluffs to get rid of your hand of cards before your opponent. These bluffs are always of a particular type, which is specified at the beginning of the round.

For instance, let’s say a round is deemed King’s Table. All players must attempt to throw their cards on the table while saying they are all Kings. The others must then either call the other players’ bluff or make one themselves to get rid of their own hand.

If a player calls the others’ bluff correctly, the person who lied must play a game of Russian Roulette. The gun has a one-in-six chance of killing them and if it goes off, the player will die and their game will be forfeited. They can continue playing if the gun does not fire.

However, should a player guess incorrectly, they are subjected to Russian Roulette instead. The odds are identical for all players, with each wrong guess diminishing their odds of survival by one. Guessing incorrectly six times in a row will result in a guaranteed death for a player.

The last player standing will win the game, earning XP and Chips for a hand well played.

  • Bluffing: Bluffs have to be made with some strategic thought in mind. Players can only have a maximum of four cards of a given type. If you happen to make an overzealous bluff, you will likely be caught instantly. So, it’s best to make a bluff in the first round or two before you start relying on the real cards. It’s during the early rounds that the other players are least likely to suspect your claims.
  • Russian Roulette: The game of Russian Roulette that awaits a player upon making a wrong guess or being caught making a bluff is out of their control. Their avatar automatically picks up the gun and uses it, where a roll of chance determines their survival. Robloxians only have up to six chances to cheat death upon making a wrong guess.
  • Playable Characters: You can choose between four characters, including your Roblox avatar. These characters have no impact on the gameplay and exist mostly as set dressing, adding flavor to the game’s setting.
  • Merchant: This Roblox experience features a Merchant who sells Crates for 5,000 Chips or 199 Robux. Crates include four rarities of cosmetics for your gun: Rare, Epic, Legendary, and Mythical. If you receive a duplicate, the skin will be converted to Chips.
  • Store: You can access premium items at the in-game store, accessible through the main menu. Here, you can purchase game passes that increase your Coin or XP multipliers, get Chip packs, and other progression items. These won’t help you win games, but they can help you get more cosmetics and level up faster.
