Pilfering Pirates: A Beginner's guide
Pilfering Pirates is a team battle experience where all four teams try to take down each other’s pirate ships. This entails using everything at your disposal, ranging from planes, guns, melee armaments, and more. The result is absolute chaos as all players try their best to score points and secure the win for their respective teams.
This guide covers the basics of Pilfering Pirates and gives you a brief overview of what this chaotic experience is all about.
Getting started with Pilfering Pirates
Overview
Pilfering Pirates is all about teamwork, where up to four ships participate in an all-out battle that ends with all but one being destroyed.
The game divides over a dozen players into four ships while keeping the number of Robloxians per vessel relatively equal. Players can either choose their team manually or allow the game to choose for them. Each seafarer is given a set of eight tools to work with, which they can use to attack the enemy or defend themselves.
Across the different game modes, the objective for each team remains the same: remain the last ship standing. The players aboard the final remaining seaboat are deemed the winners, earning them the primary in-game currency: Gold.

Gameplay mechanics
Team-focused PvP battles:
Wrecking the other team’s ship is dependent on how well-organized your team is. This game rewards good coordination and a strategic approach to combat despite the chaotic nature of matches. Players who work towards systematically destroying other ships are more likely to succeed in their goal.
Ship-on-ship combat:
Players of each team can make use of onboard cannons to destroy the other ships. After that, the cannons enter a cooldown state, during which they cannot be used. Note that cannons can be destroyed by other cannons and player-launched projectiles. Since their firepower is quite destructive, they are often the first targets that a team aims towards.
Tools:
All players have access to eight universal tools, which can be accessed by pressing the number keys on your keyboard. These tools include a sword, a Flintlock pistol, a rocket launcher, a concussive ball, a bomb, a plank, a paintball gun, and a plane. Each of these has a specific use case, which makes all of them an indispensable part of a Robloxian’s toolkit.
Game modes:
The game features four distinct modes: Classic, Mega Ships, Infection, and Deathmatch. Classic and Deathmatch are somewhat similar; the former requires a team to destroy all others, while the latter has a secondary win condition of accruing 20 kills. Mega Ships is the same as Classic but scales the vessels to twice their normal size. Lastly, Infection mode causes an enemy to join their vanquisher’s team, with the eventual goal being to get everyone on a single team.
In-game shop:
The Gold you earn through match completion can be spent at the in-game shop. You can purchase Trails, Boats, Planes, and more on this menu at any time. Furthermore, you can use Robux to purchase various game passes and apply unique effects to the match.
