Rivals Update 8 patch notes

Rivals is a Roblox PvP shooter experience where you duel with opponents in a 1v1 or team-versus-team setting. The game's latest update, dubbed Update 8, introduces the Festive Event, the Mirror Matchup game mode, the Advent Calendar, and more. Festive Event

Complete Event tasks to earn Crystals.
Use Crystals to buy new items in the Event Shop.
Universal 2x Crystal boost for the first 100 Crystals you earn. The boost resets each day.
Crystal bundles available in the Robux shop.
Snowball fights added to the lobby.
Maps decorated to reflect the festive season.
Available for a limited time.

Mirror Matchup

New dueling game mode where players partake in a shootout while geared with random weapons.
All players receive the same weapon from a randomized gear pool.
Can be played on a new map, Battleground, in 1v1s, 2v2s, and 3v3s.
Available for a limited time.

Advent Calendar

Daily rewards system.
Rewards can be claimed by completing Daily Tasks.
Freebies available throughout the holidays.

Shop updates

Festive Skin case for all weapons.
Jolly Chest can be opened for festive wraps, charms, and finishers.
Festive Wrap Box can be opened for limited-time wrapping paper-themed wraps.
Use Crystals to buy the Peppermint Wrap and Jingle Bell Charm.
The legendary AKEY-47 can be obtained through the Legendary Key Bundle, replacing Keyper.
Starter Bundles updated to include the Standard Weapon Crate.

Cosmetics

Skins, wraps, charms, and finishers can now be favorited.
The Randomize feature can be toggled to only include favorited items.
Quick search can be performed on the Weapons and Collection pages.
Improved Liquid Chrome, Liquid Gold, Paint, Aurum, Black Opal, Tempest, Water, Lightning, Thuinderburst, Iridescent, and Honeycomb wraps.

Private Server alterations

Game modes are available on Private Servers.
Private Server hosts can now kick and ban users.
New Private Server features available through a terminal next to the spawn location in the lobby.
Private Servers can be used for free.

Bug fixes

Fixed a bug that allowed players to shoot 200% charged arrows at 50%.
Fixed an issue that prevented hats from being hidden in duels.
Solved a problem with the weapon picker list mode, where it didn’t include information on the current map.
Squashed a bug that prevented players from resetting their avatars.
Solved an issue with the Standard Weapons Bundle that caused a delay before giving the bundle owner the reward.
Fixed a rare bug that affected sliding, duel pads, spectating, and other features.
Resolved a visual bug with the Pixel Blight wrap.
Resolved a visual bug with the Teleport prompt on mobile duels servers.

Rivals Update 8 balance changes

Crossbow

Reduced body damage from 50 to 37.5.

Battle Axe

Movement speed increased from -20% to -10%.
Spin damage increased from 35 to50.
Spin Cooldown increased from 2 seconds to 4 seconds.

Fists

Reduced damage dealt from 35 to 30.

Scythe

Reduced damage dealt from 45 to 35

Flashbang

Increased max ammo from 1 to 2.
Eliminated ammo regeneration.

Subspace Tripmine

Increased knockback by 25%

Other

Energy Rifles can no longer spawn kill players in Construction.
Streaks are now safe in 1v1v1 and 2v2v2 queues.
Shooting Range can be accessed after a matchmade duel ends.
Various mobile controls editor improvements, including a Left Handed Controls option for accessibility.
