Zombie Uprising: Apocalypse Mode guide

Zombie Uprising is a survival shooter with a zombie-flavored twist a la Call of Duty: Black Ops — Zombies. The most challenging game mode in this title is the Apocalypse Mode, which tests both your reflexes and loadout at the same time. Not only should your reactions be quick enough to avoid taking damage, but your weapons should deal enough damage to quickly kill multiple undead walkers.

Here’s how you can clear several waves of Apocalypse Mode in Zombie Uprising.

The Apocalypse Mode is the last game mode you unlock in this experience, requiring you to be level 25 or higher. This mode stands out from the other three not only for its tougher enemy configurations but also for its rewards.

You stand to earn 50% extra Cash and 100% extra XP by killing enemies in this mode. Needless to say, clearing dozens of waves in this mode is the best way to farm levels and money in the game.

Apocalypse Mode has no end; you face an infinite number of relentless zombies that you can clear until you are overwhelmed. You will face unique zombie bosses the more ordinary undead you kill, which are more difficult to defeat and have special abilities to boot. Defending yourself from these will require every assistance you can find, such as automated turrets available on the map.

If your loadout is peerless and your reaction time is good, surviving hundreds of waves is quite possible. The good thing is that both Normal and Hard modes prepare you for this endgame playstyle, where jumping and positioning are equally as important as shooting.

A good loadout for the Apocalypse Mode primarily relies on the primary weapon and the tertiary weapon for damage. Primary weapons, such as the Hecate II and AK-15, will have access to a lot more ammo than tertiary weapons, making them your main damage dealer. However, if the zombies overwhelm you, feel free to switch to the tertiary weapon and lay waste to the enemy.

Tertiary weapons include heavy-hitters like RPGs and Miniguns, which burn through ammunition rather quickly, but the results they produce speak for themselves. Try to balance your weapon usage between these weapon types and the grenades to survive as long as possible in this game mode.

A good loadout will balance the fire rates of both the primary and the tertiary weapons. If one of these has a high fire rate, you can get away with using a slow one for the other. However, try to ensure you don’t bring two weapons that fire slowly. Not only will your DPS falter because of this, but your ability to keep up the pressure will suffer as well.

Here’s a sample loadout that can tear through the first few dozen waves in Apocalypse Mode:

  • Primary weapon: AK-15 (Tier 10)
  • Secondary weapon: .500 Magnum (Tier 10)
  • Tertiary weapon: MGL (Tier 10)
  • Melee weapon: Karambit (Premium weapon pack)
  • Grenade: Flashbang (Tier 3)

Note that you can switch your secondary and melee weapons around freely; they won’t be of much use in active combat. Invest in a high DPS primary weapon and a tertiary weapon that does not need to be reloaded after each shot.
