New Balance launched the latest iteration in the 1080 running shoe series. The brand new sixth iteration hit the stores in late 2015. The sixth generation of 1080 came with an updated Fresh Foam and an updated upper construction. New Balance calls this running shoe as Fresh Foam 1080 v6.

1080 is a premium neutral running shoe that offers minimum support and is ideal for flat surfaces. A size 9 men’s shoe weighs around 292g. The shoe is true to its size and offers a snug fit. They slip in easy and cause zero irritation. The toe-box has a great shape and is much more flexible than 1080 v5.
Regarding the styling, you’ll identify that this is a New Balance running shoe from miles. The branding is on the sides of the shoe whereas the styling is identical to other running shoes from New Balance. New Balance offers this shoe in exciting colorways – never a dull moment with 1080 v6.
Engineered mesh in the upper is very light. Not only that, it is highly breathable. We loved this update. The unique Bootie construction wraps your foot with minimum irritation. New Balance introduced an asymmetrical heel counter that fortifies your heel perfectly. It does a dual job by also correcting over pronation.
For better support, New Balance also introduced Fantom Fit construction with this shoe. The synthetic material in the upper will go really well your feet. For long-term comfort and odor resistance, New Balance introduced Ortholite foam with Fresh Foam 1080 v6.
We see the revolutionary Fresh Foam technology in the midsole that offers unmatched cushioning. 1080 v6 is highly responsive. All your quick movement will be a piece of cake with this running shoe. 1080 v6 falls under the neutral shoe category but still manages to offer great stability and support – A huge plus.
Coming to the outsole, we see blown rubber in the forefoot area that offers enhanced cushioning. 1080 v6 boasts Flex grooves for enhanced flexibility. Gait cycle efficiency is also improved. There are no worries regarding durability of 1080 for we see a highly durable carbon rubber in the heel and in the sides of 1080 v6. New Balance calls this material as Ndurance (Get it?).
Overall, this great running shoe offers unmatched levels comfort for everyday runs and training. This running shoe will not go well with you if you are seeking a minimalistic feel but if you are looking for a shoe that offers supreme levels of cushioning, Fresh Foam 1080 v6 is it.
It is slightly expensive for a neutral running shoe, but definitely worth the price. New balance’s Fresh Foam 1080 v6 is a best match if you prefer to jog at an average pace.
