Rawat, Kheta headline IDBI Delhi Marathon

New Delhi, Feb 22 (PTI) Around 65 elite athletes will be competing alongside 15,000 runners in the 3rd IDBI Federal Life Insurance New Delhi Marathon on Sunday.

Leading the pack in the men’s 'Full Marathon' category will be defending champion Gopi T. Another Rio Olympian, Nitendra Singh Rawat, will also be in contention for a podium finish along with Kheta Ram.

Incidentally, Gopi and Nitendra had a one-two podium finish in Mumbai last month.

Among the women athletes, defending champion Monica Athare from Nashik will be competing with Jyoti Gawate who came second last year.

In the 'Half Marathon' men’s category, Govind Singh will be a contender with Thirta Pun giving him tough foght.

The women’s half marathon category, Kiran and Varsha Devi will be aiming for a podium spot, with both having a personal best timing which is a few seconds apart from each other
