Mumbai, 13 January, 2016: Registrations for the 2016 edition of IL&FS Financial Services (IFIN) annual ‘I Run for Fun’ have opened with the event organized by India’s leading non-banking finance company entering its fourth year, the company announced.

Those wishing to participate in the event, scheduled for Feb. 21st, 2016, can log onto IL&FS Financial Services (IFIN) website (www.ilfsbkcrun.in). Races will be held in two categories – a 5 kilometer ‘Fun Run’ and a 10 kilometer ‘Pro Run.’ The 10 Km ‘Pro Run’ will be certified by the District Athletic Association of India. Registrations for the races which will start and end at the IFIN Financial Centre at the Bandra-Kurla Complex, will close on 15th February 2016.

First held in 2013, ‘I Run for Fun’ has steadily gained in popularity. The 2015 edition was the biggest yet with over 4,000 running enthusiasts from across the corporate world taking part. Given the excitement in the build-up to this year’s event, over 5,000 people are expected to take part in the 2016 edition.

‘I Run for Fun’ brings corporates, running enthusiasts and Bollywood celebrities together in an atmosphere of camaraderie and friendship. It is also aimed at helping increasingly desk-bound executives incorporate fitness as a vital part of their daily routines.

This year’s edition, which is powered by Yes Bank will see participation by employees from top banks like HDFC, Kotak Mahindra and many more. Employees of other corporates based in the Bandra-Kurla Complex like CISCO, the Wadhwa Group and Naman Group are also expected to show their support and participate, including CEOs, CFOs and CXOs of large companies.

IL&FS Financial Services (IFIN) will continue its association with NGO ADAPT (Able Disable All People Together) for the 2016 edition of the Run. As part of the partnership, IL&FS Financial Services (IFIN) has pledged to donate a part of the online earnings from the event to the NGO. Additionally, ‘I Run for Fun’ 2016 will include a separate race for 15 specially-abled children.

Ramesh Bawa, MD & CEO, IL&FS Financial Services (IFIN) said, “Corporate jobs today tend to be increasingly desk-bound. ‘I Run for Fun 2016’ is aimed at encouraging the financial industry workforce to incorporate fitness into their daily lives in a fun and rewarding way. The initiative has come a long way since we first organized it in 2013. We are delighted to say that since then it has really caught on with more and more people registering every year. The 2015 edition was the biggest yet and we are confident the list of participants for this year’s edition will be even longer.”
