This run has been gaining international attention because of the highly talented field that is participating this year.
We are also grateful to our medical partners for their valuable support which could come in handy in such a competitive atmosphere."
Speaking about the new route, Race Director Hugh Jones said "This year we have made the route a little simpler, lesser turns and more variations in terms of terrain. Previously it was mostly upward route but now it is more gradient. For instance the route is upward in Kasturba Road, goes downward at MG Road, and then again is ascending around Kamaraj Road and so on. The final Cubbon Park stretch is the fastest one since it's just a downward descent. Runners will definitely benefit from the fact that it is a more gradient path and will add to their run in a positive manner,"
