The 2016 Wings for Life World Run was a resounding success, with more than 130,000 participants engaging in a run full of energy, enthusiasm and grit. The global winners, Giorgio Calcaterra among the men and Kaori Yoshida among the women, both shattered previous records, getting overtaken by the catcher car after having covered 88.44 kilometres and 65.71 kilometres, respectively. 

The Indian leg of the run took part at Ahmedabad, and the winners were Titus Kariuki Wanderi Githu in the men's section, who ran 54.2 km in 3 hours 48 minutes and Kiranjeet Kaur in the women's section, who ran 39.21 km in 2 hours 59 minutes. 

The 3rd edition of the Wings for Life World Run turned out to be a record success with 130,732 participants from 33 countries running for those who cannot. Here's a quick video recap of the event:
