Watch: Official Trailer of Budhia Singh - Born To Run released
The official trailer of ‘Budhia Singh - Born To Run‘ has just been released and is fast grabbing peoples’ focus across the country.
A riveting real-life story that found its way into the spotlight in the previous decade and then faded into oblivion almost as fast as it had emerged – ‘Budhia Singh - Born To Run‘ has been penned and directed by Soumendra Padhi and produced by Viacom18 Motion Pictures and Code Red Film Productions.
Featuring Master Mayur in the title role alongside critically acclaimed actors Manoj Bajpayee and Tilottama Shome, the movie narrates the pangs and praises experienced by the World’s youngest ever marathon runner within a tiny span of time since he had first surfaced in the sporting arena.

The plot revolves around how Budhia was taken in by a local Judo instructor Biranchi Das (played by Manoj Bajpayee) for his running talent after his mother had sold him to a travelling peddler for a sum of Rs 800, following which the Odisha-born went on to write his name in the Limca Book of World Records at the tender age of four.
The infant who ran 48 marathons and raised eyebrows with an unbelievable 65-km run from Bhubaneswar to Puri in the sweltering heat of May in the year 2006 then met with instant stardom that brought with it a host of controversies that had their roots in nefarious greed and corruption.
In a country like ours where immensely gifted sporting prospects fail to receive the necessary recognition and support to pursue higher goals, Budhia’s is a story that requires telling, especially to shed some much-needed light on the reasons that contribute to Indian sports’ poor faring at the world stage.
2016 being an Olympic year, Bollywood has had several sports-based movies dished out for the Indian audience to feast upon – Budhia’s biopic is no exception. Incidentally, ‘Budhia Singh - Born To Run‘ is scheduled to hit the theatres on the 5th of August, same day the Summer Olympics 2016 flag off in Brazil’s Rio de Janeiro.
